Actor, Yul Edochie Describes Nigeria as a Mess
Popular actor, Yul Edochie, who has since ventured into politics, has decribed the state of the nation as a mess. This was in a series of Independence Day tweets, where he called on the government to try something different.
According to him, he cannot wish anybody happy independence because there is nothing to be happy about.
Can’t wish anybody a Happy Independence day, there’s nothing to be happy about. Nigeria is in a mess. The masses, the youths are unhappy. Poverty, hunger, joblessness, killings still prevail. Government listen to the cry of the people. Power is nothing if ur people are unhappy

Yul Edochie says the country cannot be great by simply proclaiming it to be so.
Stating his frustrations, the actor also noted that he has never seen a country that is great just by mere words of mouth. It is time to do something, he said.
Never heard of a nation being great simply because citizens “proclaimed its greatness” or “spoke greatness into it”. We’ve been doing this for 35 years, here we are. Isn’t it time we tried something else?
