When Two Big Names Marry; Photos of the Traditional Wedding Ceremony Between Chinua Achebe’s Granddaughter and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala’s Son
Both products of Havard University.
The son of the former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and the granddaughter of literary icon, Chinua Achebe recently performed their traditional marriage rights in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
The groom, Uchech Iweala is a graduate of Havard University. He graduated from the Havard Medical School in 2014 and works in Washington, DC; he specializes in Orthopaedic Surgery.
The bride, Chioma Achebe is also a Havard graduate. She graduated from the Havard Law and Business School. She currently works as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BSG), Washington D.C.
One would recall that the bride’s granddad until his death was one of Africa’s most celebrated writers. He wrote Africa’s first novel to be recognized world wide; Things Fall Apart in 1956. The novel has since been translated in over 2000 foreign languages.
