MTV Shuga:Nigerian Edition!

Today  Protea Hotel,Ikoyi, Nigeria was flocked  by talented and aspiring actrors/ actresses from different parts of Nigeria.They all came for one reason,to audition for Nigeria’s edition of Shuga.

Shuga was originally a Kenyan series that was first aired in 2009 as a part of an initiative called  ‘MTV Staying Alive Ignite’ The series aimed at looking into some serious Kenyan issues among the youth such as sex,promiscuity,HIV and money.The first season was such a hit prompting the birth of season two that had a bigger cast that included celebrities like Shirleen Wangari ,Brenda Wairimu and singer Avril.

The contestants

 A few Nigerian  celebrity guests were also present for the auditions  such as Mo Eazy,Gabriel Afolayan and Makida Moka.

The ones who succeed will join Nigerian actor/musician Ikubese Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu and Nick Mutuma in the award winning series.
