Vanso Da Gama whose real name is Evans Kelvin Nyongesa is an accountant by profession. The 25 year old is a Kenyan rapper and a song writer from the leading label Pacho Entertainment.
The rapper says back then he was unable to live of music only, he had to look for side jobs in order to fit in the ever- demanding Kenyan society. It is this past experience that led him to do Juu ya Doh hit, to send a clear
message that he is doing this for money. His music journey stems from his high school days where he used to write lyrics and remix other artists’ work. It is however after he met Rapdamu Naiboi, C.E.O Pacho Entertainment, in 2010 that he realized music tops his list of priorities.
Ever since he has done singles like Ghipuka, Party Time and Big Bang Theory. He took a break in 2013 to concentrate in his accounting studies and he hopes his new hit Juu ya Doh will pick from where he stopped in 2013. Juu ya Doh which means “about the money” is a song based on the daily hustle encountered in daily life of a Kenyan citizen.
It is an invitation extended to Kenyans to take music seriously, because just like any other ordinary job, it contributes positively to the Kenyan economy. This message is beautifull packaged in a melodious feel -good rhythm that is not only insightful but also pleasing to the ear. Here is the video
