Meet the Kenyan Lady Serving in the U.S.A Navy and Who Is Wowing Everyone with Her Exceptional Skills

The name Frida Karani is synonymous with excellence when it comes to the U.S.A Navy.

Frida who serves as a Navy Petty Officer (1st Class) recently wowed everyone after she was crowned as the ‘2016 Armed Forces Chef of the Year.’

In addition, the native of the Kenyan coast is also a personal chef for the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Frida credits her skills and passion in the kitchen to the sumptuous meals her parents and grandparents taught her to make growing up at the Coast.

Speaking to defense.gov following her win, Frida said that “I know I’ve had such a long journey in my culinary world, and I still have I think I have a long way to go.When I heard I’d actually won, it assured me I’m on the right path [and] solidified my strong belief in myself and the students I was training.”
