Meet Adaku… The 15-Year Old Girl Who Has Become The Talk Of Town. And Is Keeping The Whole City Buzzin ‘…

Female rappers come and go. World over. One minute we have Lil Kim tearing up the charts (and Biggie’s sheets) and the next minute she’s quickly replaced by Da Brat who is quickly replaced by Eve who is quickly replaced by Missy Elliott who goes under and Foxy Brown steps up the stage and quickly,Trina and Nicki Minaj are here to own the beat.

In the female rapdom, things happen so fast it’s hard to keep track. We’ve seen some good girl rappers locally. And some downright disastrous. And embarrassing.

But one teenage girl seems to have stepped up the stage. And doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to exit.

She’s come with the urgency of Wangechi and the potency of the now-forgotten Xtatic. Her name is Adaku. Yes,just Adaku.

At only 15 years,Adaku is quickly becoming the talk of the City. For starters, her urbane style is so chic,so debonair she’s already entered the annals of fashion iconery even before she’s become an adult.

But it’s her rap style – raw, bombastic, urgent, ferocious, sick and dangerous – that is quickly making her a rap princess.

Her newest song, Buzzin’, has already entered the local charts and made the girl the loudest talk of social media over this past weekend.

Launched last Friday, the song has already clocked as many as over 2,000 views with no promotion at all. In fact, within a hour of the song’s uploading on YouTube, it quickly garnered 300 views just like that.

The song itself is Adaku playing the Hip Hop Empress… Over a minimalist beat, produced by Atwal,Adaku raps about various subjects including her pompousness, her mad skills, her intention to kill MCs,take over the industry and eviscerate rappers in a style reminiscent of Mc Lyte.

But it’s the masterfully-done video that has the whole City talking – shot at the posh Lavington neighborhood, the video opens up with Adaku rapping next to her mellow-voiced collaborator Kelvin K and then it moves to expensive scenes of the duo next to classy cars and further to a final scene of the duo rapping and performing with a huge crew of friends with red cups bobbing in the air surrounded by posh cars and in a very lively, party atmosphere.

The video quality is topnotch and the general clip is of international standards complete with the best HD quality, wonderful color combination, percent picture quality and some very tasteful scenes.

The many positive comments on YouTube too are another testament of Adaku’s undeniable acceptance in the Industry.

Born Vanessa Okoligan,to Nigerian and Kenyan parents,Adaku seems to be ready to take on the big shots and it won’t be long before she’s allover MTV BASE. Because she very easily can.

Watch the girl kill it in her spanking fresh jam Buzzin’ in the video below.

A star,it seems,has been born.
