MCSK’s Maurice Okoth Converts To Islam All So He Can Marry His Sweetheart

Maurice Okoth Mwande one of the people responsible for turning around the fortunes of MCSK is set to wed his long term girlfirend Shamillah Khadija Kiptoo and will be tying the knot in a small private Wedding at his house in Nairobi this weekend. Okoth has overseen steady rise of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya from a few hundred thousand shillings to Sh 600M-turnover-a-year Company.

When asked for a comment by the standard Digital team, he said, “I have got myself a silver ring to match the white Gold wedding band,” announced an excited Okoth who from today becomes Mahmoud Okoth after converting to Islam at the Kilimani Mosque at the Department of Defense.

Okoth says it was a small sacrifice to make for his lady love, Khadija, to rescind his Christianity because “I truly love her.”

He has already travelled to meet her parents to ask for their hand in marriage. And with his marriage Okoth believes he will be a settled man who can even steer better the company to greater heights.
