Marya Talks About the Horrors She Witnessed in the Tana Delta
Marya has made some of the biggest hits in the lasts couple of years. From Chokoza to Sishiki Simu, which saw her as the only female Kenyan artiste in the East African category of the continental KORA Awards.
Besides the music, the beautiful singer also does a fair share of humanitarian activities. After the crisis in the Tana Delta, the singer, together with Red Cross other artistes, traveled to the area to console the affected.
“We went there and did a tour of the area. We were taken to a church where a bunch of people had been shot. There was a woman who had been shot with her child in her arms and the father was also holding part of the child. I was really touched by what I saw and I will continue doing what I can for the less fortunate. I love my country na najivunia kuwa mkenya.”
She is truly a beautiful soul. The Peace campaign is motivated to proactively inspire peaceful elections and a better Kenya for everyone. The ultimate aim of The Peace initiative is to contribute to building a foundation for a better Kenya in line with the new constitution and our aspirations as a nation.
