Major TBT. Back When Mark Masai Was A Muslim And An Adopted Kid

Mark Masai is presently one of the leading news anchor with such a professional suave, it is hard to fault him on any matter as far as doing his job goes and living up to the role model tag his past asks of him.

It was not always this way however, as Mark Wight Masai formerly Abdullahi Mohammed was left by his mother Fatuma Abdullahi to a white missionary as she had just finished her elementary education, was poor and not ready for motherhood. She left him in the hands of the lady who acted as the foster mother to Mark Masai and his adopted brother Kamau.

Later he would audition successfully for Africans children choir in 1992 and tour with the choir in the US from 1993 to 1994 before coming settling and getting to education and following his path to his current career. When his foster mother retired to England, Mark would live with the African Children’s Choir family who also sponsored his education.

Of his time at African Children’s Choir and the organization, Masai is quoted on the official website saying;

“The Music for Life has granted me sponsorship in my primary, secondary and college education but not just that! Music for Life is bigger than Family. Since my foster mum retired back to England, I have lived with members of the African Children’s Choir! I don’t live with blood brothers, sisters, a mum or dad but I have the biggest family spread all over Africa! I have the biggest family anyone could ever have” he is listed as a success story ad there is no disputing that.

Over Mother’s Day, Mark celebrated his foster mother with a picture of him and his adopted brother and his mother. Here is that photo of a young Mark Masai:
