Maina And King’ang’i In The Morning: Would You As A Man Consider Vasectomy As A Family Planning Method?
Maina and King’ang’i are asking quite a puzzling question; would Kenyan men embrace vasectomies as a family planning method? And just what is a vasectomy? Well, a vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilization and/or permanent birth control. During the procedure, the vasa deferentia of a man are severed, and then tied/sealed in a manner such to prevent sperm from entering into the seminal stream (ejaculate). Vasectomies are usually performed in a physician’s office or medical clinic.
The part labelled “F” is the part that gets severed.
So basically, they snip your balls. So no thank you! Uncle Chim Tuna will not go under the knife for a 2nd time unless it is because of cancer!
But this is the question Maina posed to everyone:
There is something that was carried out in Rwanda recently. We are here wondering how it would go down here in Kenya. Read on…
The government of Rwanda now advocates for a Birth Control Method for men known as Vasectomy. This is for family planning purposes according to the Ministry of Health in Rwanda. Vasectomy is an operation on a man to prevent him from impregnating a woman. Most African men won’t even advocate for it, yet most rich and wealthy men especially in the west have undergone this procedure. It is considered an effective family planning method.
We ask, what do you think about it? Do you think this would be implemented in Kenya successfully? Ladies, if it was up to you, would you let your man undergo a vasectomy? Gentlemen, what are your thoughts on vasectomy? Should it be considered? Wouldn’t it be effective for family planning in our society?
Let us know your thoughts! I’ll be reading your comments. This is very interesting…
Tune in and have your say.
