Maina And King’ang’i In The Morning: Should Men Be Held Accountable For Wasting A Woman’s Time With The Promise Of Marriage?

Maina and King’ang’i are this morning tackling a very interesting conversation:

This morning we’re discussing the further proposed ammendments to the marriage bill. The legislators have ammended it as follows (in layman’s terms)

1. A man won’t need consent from his first wife to marry a 2nd wife.
2. A promise to marry someone isn’t binding – meaning a man can change his mind.

What are your thoughts ladies and gentlemen? Is this beneficial or is it harmful? Should the bill be passed? Let’s talk!

And my word the debate stirred up a storm in a teacup. The male callers voiced vociferous support for the amended Marriage Bill in which men are not required to inform their wives of their intent to marry a second wife -something I personally do not agree with even though I am a polygamist.

The men called in with very sharp opinions about the same. It was incredible just how many men want to marry a second and third wife behind their wives backs. Cold. Cowardly.

Women, what say you? Do you agree with the cowardly quips?
