Machakos First Lady Lillian Ng’ang’a Donates A Six Figure Amount To Jacqueline Mwende , The Woman Whose Hands Were Hacked Off By Estranged Husband (Photos)
Jackline Mwende, 27, was unexpectedly assaulted by her husband Stephen Ngila Thenge for being unable to bear children.
Her story has caught the attention of Kenyans everywhere who were horrified about what her husband did.
Among those Kenyans whose attention she caught was, Machakos first lady, Lillian Nga’ng’a.
Lillian visited the victim in the company of County Women Representatives Hons. Dr. Susan Musyoka (Machakos), Mary Seneta (Kajiado), Joyce Wanjala Lay (Taita Taveta), Rose Museo (Makueni), Entrepreneur Esther Passaris and Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Chairlady (Machakos) Fransisca Mutinda among others.
The purpose of the visit was for Ms Jackline Mwende to receive support from Machakos County government.
Speaking while she visited the victim at her parent’s home in Kathama village, Lillian said Ms. Mwende will get free medical care including counseling until she is fully recovered.
Mwende will also be provided with a housekeeper paid for by the county government of Machakos for a period of one year.
“We are touched by her situation and condemn this beastly act,” Lillian said, adding that a monthly stipend of Ksh.30, 000 will be given to the victim, also for a period of one year.
Besides, Jackline Mwende will be provided for with prosthetics or any other medical requirement she might need.
“There will be an ambulance at her disposal available to take her to clinic or hospital for checkups for one year and we will also train her so that she is employable and able to sustain herself in future.” said Lillian.
Machakos government has further pledged to review Mwende’s condition and if possible will extend that support beyond one year.
Lillian also contributed Ksh.100, 000 to Mwende for her immediate up keep needs.
