Lupita Nyong’o s accolades keep on getting better with each new month and now she has found a new level of love from America.
She has a day dedicated to her, a bit like The Martin Luther King Jr Day. (Should’ve warned you of the hyperbole) only her is not a holiday nor a day marked by the whole nation, Just Harlem and given the importance of the City in American History, it is a great honor nonetheless
At a time when we are still wondering how long it would take to rename Limuru Road, elsewhere people are more appreciative of the talents, sacrifices and fortitude of heroes and heroines in their midst.
The award came while we were busy trying to find meaning to our own Mashujaa celebrations, someone somewhere was appreciating one of our modern day role models.
