Lo and Behold! Kenya’s First Artist Responds To American Rapper Kendrick Lamar!
If you are an active tweep you definitely are aware what American rapper Kendrick Lamar did last week. For those who are not, this is what happened: this Lamar guy did the unthinkable; dude dissed nearly every contemporary rapper that matters, including Sean and Electronica and declared he’s the rap King of New York – KONY in an instant-classic verse on Big Sean’s “Control (HOF).”
And boy, a verse hasn’t gripped hip-hop fans like this in a long time.To put that into perspective, here’s part of the controversial lyrics;
“Bout who’s the best MC?
Kendrick, Jigga and Nas
Eminem, Andre 3000, the rest of y’all
New niggas just new n!ggas, don’t get involved
And I ain’t rockin no more designer sh*t
White Ts and Nike Cortez, this is red Corvettes anonymous
I’m usually homeboys with the same n!ggas I’m rhymin’ wit
But this is hip-hop and them n!ggas should know what time it is
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Millz,
A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron’, Tyler, Mac Miller
I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n!ggas
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n!ggas
They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you n!ggas
What is competition? I’m tryna raise the bar high…”
Now that we are on the same page, we can proceed. While plenty American rappers like Diddy, Big Sean and Pusha T, A$AP Rocky among others have responded via Twitter, none has let known their views lyrically.
However, from the most unexpected places, comes a rapper who has responded to Lamar’s lyrics. Kenyan emcee and singer based in Kansas, Kapela has taken the bull by its horns by simply laying down verses challenging Lamar, rapper K-Nel reports. pela, a hip-hop thoroughbred declares, “You asked for it Kendrick” as he takes bare-knuckle fist-cuts at the American rapper.
So, like K-Nel, I ask did Kapela commit suicide or did he serve delicious food on the rap plate?
