With the release of finance results Business Daily compiled a report of the highest earning CEOs. The money most of the blue chip companies CEOs can break or encourage you.
At the top of the pile is also the youngest CEO in the list, CENTUM CEO, James Mworia. His is an inspiration story fit for several columns. For now, his monthly compensation is enough to tell you how far he has come. His annual compensation is 201.1 million up from an annual compensation of 160.5 million. Basically he has an average of Ksh. 16.7 million per month, all that at 39 years.
Mworia’s namesake, James Mwangi is next in the list of highest paid CEOs. Last year he got 15.9 million per month. The Equity CEO shares the position with three other executive directors of the bank.
Next is the CEO of the BAT Kenya Keith Gretton who takes home 13.2 million each month. His CFO Phillip Lokopoiyit takes home the same amount.
Despite working for the most profitable company in the region, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore comes in 4th. He along with his former CFO took home 10.7 million for the year ended March.
The 5th highest paid CEO in Kenya is a trio of EABL’s employees.Jane Karuku (MD of Kenya Breweries Limited) and the firm’s two former executives – Charles Ireland (former CEO) and Tracey Barnes (former CFO) — each got an average of 7.2 million per month.
Finally, KCB’s CEO Joshua Oigara and his CFO took home 6.3 million each making up the 6 highest paying companies for the top executives.
The Chief Financial Officers and CEOs are easily the ones taking home the biggest share with salaries depending on the company’s finances. Hope you just got inspired.
