KWS Gives Conservationists And Mwingi Residents A Heart Attack With Another SILLY Blunder (Photos)

Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) are surely sleeping on their job. The incident in Mwingi should not have happened especially at this particular time.

The last time KWS shot a lion dead there were protests online as Kenyans couldn’t understand why they didn’t use a tranquilizer to subdue the big cat and take it back to the park instead of murdering it in broad daylight.

Another ugly scene was repeated on Saturday in Kitui County. An elephant killed a class eight pupil and it was shot dead by KWS rangers.

Mark you Mwingi residents say the jumbo was roaming the area since Thursday but rangers didn’t act until it killed the 13-year-old boy is when KWS officers sprang into action and gunned it down.

With the numbers of elephants dwindling rapidly, it was indeed a sad day for conservationists given that the jumbo was killed by bullets fired by KWS rangers.

The KWS officers who killed the elephant were from the Kora National Park and Mwingi North Game Reserve.

The death of the class eight pupil sparked protest in the area as residents barricaded Mwingi-Kyuso road bringing traffic to a standstill.
