Kunguru Goes on Crazy Demand!
A few years ago Kunguru reigned radio airwaves with his hits African Woman and Baby Don’t Go featuring Mr. Lenny, but somewhere along the way he took a hiatus. However, while most of us thought he had fizzled out of the music scene like other ‘founding fathers’ of urban music, the musician turned successful banker had a surprise for us!
In July, the husky-voiced artist announced his comeback by dropping a hot new jam, “Superstar”, featuring the enchanting Christine Apondi. He immediately followed that up with a video shoot for the single and is just about to drop it.
But before that, “Superstar” has been enjoying some massive airplay on local radio stations and as at last week, it was the top song on East Africa Radio’s “The Cruise top 9@9”. And now, the latest mdundo downloads indicate that the club-banger is the hottest song of the week.
Besides, for the last one month, the singer has been on a back-to-back interviews on radio stations like OneFM, Citizen Radio (Mambo Mseto) and the very latest being, Inooro FM, last Friday. He also performed at Diamond’s concert held at the KICC recently.
It’s now pretty much obvious that Kunguru is back to reclaim his position at “the table of men”. With his latest style; a mixture of benga and modern rap, which he says not many musicians are doing, Kunguru is confident that his music career is now being redefined.
