The story exploded to trend worldwide compelling Eritrean government had to respond to set the record straight.

Eritrean Information Minister, Yemane Gebremeskel, blasted the Kenyan news outlet which published the fabricated story.

Yemane tweeted to express his fury and dissatisfaction with the article which he said was an illustration of vileness of the dark forces.

“The media frenzy to parrot this ludicrous, fabricated and trite story… is appalling”. The story illustrates the vileness of the dark forces of disinformation and proclivity of others to readily embrace the negative narrative on Eritrea”. Gebremeskel tweeted.
