KFCB Says ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ is Not Pornographic After All

After cracking the whip on award-winning Hollywood movie, the Kenya Films and Classification Board (KFCB) is now tightening the noose on Kenyans who are downloading and vending the outlawed film.

“The fight against PORNOGRAPHY and UNCLASSIFIED films continues. Cyber cafe operators warned against selling unclassified and restricted content to the public,” reads the stern warning on KFCB’s Facebook page.

Cyber cafe owners found with copies of the banned film will be prosecuted, a KFCB official warned. Nancy Munyi cyber cafe owners who think they will make a killing by downloading the film and selling it illegally risk being jailed for a year or being fined Ksh500,000.

She added that all films meant for sale to the public or for public exhibition in video showrooms must have the relevant classification stickers or the exhibitors or vendors will be prosecuted. This means all movie vendors will be compelled to buy stickers for all their films.

Meanwhile, after advice, KFCB has reached a conclusion that The Wolf of Wall Street is not pornographic in nature.

“UNCENSORED ADVICE: We have been advised that Wolf of Wall Street is NOT pornographic but is FULL of NUDITY, SEX, DEBAUCHERY, HEDONISM, VULGARITY, CURSING and BLATANT ABUSE OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL.
Pornography IS FULL OF sex and nudity.”
