Kenyans in Las Vegas Send the Strongest Message Yet to the World Regarding Lupita’s Nationality (PHOTO)
With her fierce style and massive talent in her breakout movie, 12 Years A Slave, actress Lupita Amondi Nyong’o has become the film-industry conqueror. However, there’s always an uproar and disquiet whenever her nationality crops up.
Her bio reads, “Nyong’o was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents (Dorothy and Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o)”. And this is where the bone of contention lies. There are two groups that each wants to substantiate their argument about Lupita’s nationality.
One argues that Lupita is Mexican by birth and so she’s a Mexican national. However, most Kenyans argue that Lupita is Kenyan by blood considering both her parents are Kenyan. And as it is, this argument seems to go on and on.
Over the weekend however, Kenyans living in Las Vegas sent the strongest message yet regarding the highly contested nationality of the silver screen goddess. Check out;
Meanwhile, a thanksgiving mass to celebrate Lupita’s acting career was held yesterday at Ridgeway Baptist Church in Nairobi and was attended by family, friends and fans.
