Kenyan Soccer Player Brutally Attacked in the U.S.
A Kenyan soccer star, Dan Kapila, playing professionally in Division 2’s LA Blues, was attacked at his house as he was holding a party for his other team members.
It turned out that the aggressors were members of a rival team, Milano FC. Police have managed to arrest three of the predominantly Latino team members. The attack left him with a bloodied hand that needed stitches.
Dan Kapila, who is now a permanent resident in the U.S., went to the country to study but managed to get drafted into the team. He had previously played in the Kenya Under 19 team when Ghost Mulei and Mohamed Kheri coached.
Dan Kapila’s hand injuries will not hinder his ability to play but extra caution is being taken before he is cleared. Four other members of his team were stitched up and treated for small injuries before being discharged.
