Kenyan Gospel Artistes’ Dressing Condemned

I once heard a Church Minister say that “God does not look at the way you dress, He looks at your heart” quoting 1 Samuel 16:7 that says, “But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Looking at most urban Gospel artistes’ mode of dressing you won’t help notice how flashy and costly they might have cost, something that would be met with a backlash from the Church elders. But most of them will quote the aforementioned verse.

And now, hip hop rapper, Khaligraph Jones has sparked off a furious debate in the media on how today’s Gospel artistes dress. Posting on his Facebook timeline, Khaligraph condemned Gospel artistes whose outfits bear brands such as YMCMB, TRUKFIT and OVOXO.

“You Gospel artists Who wear YMCMB, TRUKFIT and OVOXO Branded attires on Music Videos, thats Very ignorant of you, ya’ll are so blinded with Fashion that you Forget who you are Serving??. #smh”
