Kenyan Band From The Slums Gets Featured On BBC And Reveals They Have Documentary Coming out Soon(VIDEO) (Video)

When they started out, just like many young people from the slums, the aim was to tell their story and find a way out of the poverty that engulfed them.

Yet, several years down the line, Sarabi Band has become quite a force to reckon with taking their music beyond just the borders of Nairobi city to international platforms. Their unique style and subject in the music makes them quite a new voice and pretty much relevant and their efforts over the years have earned them international recognition in one of the worlds biggest media houses BBC.

The group was recently featured on the Focus on Africa show and they got to talk about their musical journey and what they stand for. In the interview the group also revealed they have a documentary about their lives coming up. Here is a snippet of the feature.
