Kenyan Artists Warned About Twerking!

Twerking is slowly becoming a mainstay in most music videos in the country. But just what is twerking? The free encyclopedia describes twerking as a dance move that involves a person shaking their upper hips and lower hips in an up and down bouncing motion, causing them to shake, ‘wobble’ and ‘jiggle.’ To “twerk” means to “dance in a sexually suggestive fashion by twisting the hips.”

Now that we’re on the same page, twerking in music videos has been reprimanded and the latest to do so is German-based Kenyan rapper, K-Nel King. In his counsel delivered in the most austere manner, K-Nel warns artists about the manner in which they should handle the dance move.

“My tip to Kenyan Urban Artists; I have been receiving a lot of music videos to review from the motherland. Pliz, cut that TWERK sh*t off your videos especially if you have dancers who can’t do it right. That sh*t looking corny. Oh yeah, you looking at the Americans and wanna copy and paste the same. Go ahead but make sure it’s done right.#My2Cent”
