Kenya Fatboy “Faiba Fame” On CNN Marketplace Africa Today At 9:45pm

This week, CNN International’s weekly business show, Marketplace Africa will focus on Kenya’s booming advertising industry.
CNN’s Nima Elbagir will interview Michael Muthiga a Creative Director at Fatboy Animation on his role of creating a 3D animation hit, which is a household name in Kenya.

Through a sneak preview of the Business show, Muthiga tells CNN, “Firstly, it was the fact that it was a new medium of advertising and people didn’t expect it”.
Second, the creativity in it and the story and the whole concept, it was a funny one.
And thirdly we actually sat down to decide how we wanted this character to look and I think that went a long way also in making it a big success.”

Though 3-d animation is not new in Kenya – it has not been widely used in TV commercials.

The show will air on CNN International at the following times: 8th November at 9:45PM; 9th November at 6:15AM and 9:15AM; 10th November 4:15AM, 7:15 PM.
