¨Churchill is the Messiah of Comedy¨ MC Jessy celebrates Churchill´s legacy
Celebrated comedian, MC Jessy has heaped praise on Kenya´s Godfather of comedy, Mwalimu Churchill for walking with him until he made a name for himself.
Jasper Muthomi, known to many as MC Jessy is no longer a name you need to be introduced to every time you hear it.
The comedy act gradually scaled the ladder in the art industry until her because the host of Churchill Raw and Churchill´s co-host.
During the recent launch of Coca Cola Bila Sukari in Meru, Jessy highlighted:
He (Churchill) is the messiah of comedy for us. He is the one who got us from Egypt and we are on a journey.
Churchill has made his legacy and left a mark in the comedy industry as far as Kenya is concerned. But someone needs to pick up and continue the legacy.
Speaking on the same, MC Jessy explained:
We are yet to get to Canaan. But maybe God will send a Joshua. Maybe me, MCA Tricky, Professor Hamo or anyone of us will be the Joshua to take us to Canaan. That´s the respect and honor I have for my brother Churchill and I love him so much.
Despite the backlash Churchill has received in regard to mistreating and underpaying his comedians, Jessy still praised:
This guy (Churchill) has done tremendously well. I thank God for him everyday. For 10 years, I have never stayed a week without work. I don´t need to go to Churchill to pay me. And I forget sometimes about my salary because I will be paid in my other jobs. Because they first saw me at Churchill show.
Being at Churchill Show had already created a name for MC Jessy. He was getting deals from local gigs, to corporates to media establishments.
