Zuchu reveals the intesnse journey that inspired her song “Naringa”
Tanzanian singer Zuchu has opened up about the inspiration behind her latest song “Naringa,” revealing that she wrote the lyrics while crying due to the challenges she faced in the music industry.
Zuchu, born Zuhura Othman, said that she was subjected to gossip and scrutiny by social media users, which led to her emotional outburst while composing the song’s heartfelt lyrics.
“Naringa” is a soul-stirring anthem that encourages listeners to never give up, reassuring them that they are never alone and that God is their constant source of strength.
Speaking about the creative process behind “Naringa,” Zuchu said:
“I wrote this verse during one of the toughest times in my music career. People are always talking about me, but in this profession, one of the challenges is being talked about. So I decided to channel my anger into my music.”
She added:
“I was writing this verse while crying. Being talked about is also a blessing because it means that you are a star and you are blessed. When people talk about you or try to bring you down, know that there is something special about you that they cannot defeat. That’s why they are fighting you. This song is here to uplift your spirits and remind you that you are chosen, and the One you rely on does not falter, does not take bribes, and favors the affirmative.”
Zuchu also spoke about the underlying theme of her music, which is to empower women and children. She said that a significant portion of her fan base is made up of these groups, and she wants her music to be a source of inspiration for them.
In a recent online confrontation with a fan, Zuchu defended her fashion choices. The fan had said that her attire gave off a childlike vibe, but Zuchu responded by saying:
“Don’t dictate my fashion choices. Go buy some for your father instead, my friend.”
