YouTube creates opportunities for small channels to earn big!
The YouTube Partner Program (YPP), the platform’s monetization program, has announced a considerable drop in its qualifying restrictions. YouTube is owned by Google.
The change intends to provide smaller creators greater possibilities to make money off of their work earlier.
Before, in order to be eligible for the YPP, creators needed to have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 legitimate watch hours. With the new rules, creators can join the program after they have 3,000 valid watch hours and 500 subscribers.
Before being formally rolled out globally, this modification will first be implemented in a number of nations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea.
Although the entry requirements have been lowered, YouTube’s revenue-sharing guidelines are still in place.
To take advantage of ad revenue sharing and increase their ad revenue, smaller producers must still increase their subscriber base and watch time.
In addition to modifying YPP eligibility, YouTube has also given creators new ways to monetize their work. Smaller creators can now access paid chat, tipping, channel memberships, and shopping opportunities.
With the help of these tools, producers may monetize their online presence and provide their followers and admirers the choice to financially support them in a variety of ways.
The choice to lower the entry threshold for monetization features is in line with a trend observed on other platforms, like TikTok.
The firm has declared that producers who have developed a following of over 10,000 would now have access to Series, a video paywall feature. Users who meet specific requirements and have at least 1,000 followers will also have the chance to apply for participation in the initiative.
