Will Smith’s Wife Reveals Chris Rock Asked Her Out On A Date Before He Got Slapped

In her new memoir, “Worthy,” Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that Chris Rock asked her out on a date amid rumors that she and Will Smith were getting a divorce.

Pinkett Smith told People that Rock called her up and said, “I’d love to take you out.”

“And I was like, ‘What do you mean?'” she recalled. “He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumors.’ He was appalled.”

Rock later profusely apologized, Pinkett Smith said.

The incident happened years before Rock slapped Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars after Rock made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head. Pinkett Smith suffers from alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss.
