“I would break down every time I got my period because I was desperate to give Diamond a child. It hurt me deeply, as I truly wanted to have his baby. He remains the only man I’ve ever loved so profoundly,” Wema revealed during a recent interview with Mino TV.
Wema was already a well-known figure in Tanzania’s entertainment industry when she began dating Diamond early in his career. Their highly publicized romance captivated fans and dominated entertainment headlines for years.
The couple’s love was intense, marked by a blood covenant they made as a symbol of their commitment—something Wema now admits she was reluctant to do due to their young age. Diamond even dedicated a song, “Nawaza,” to Wema, immortalizing their relationship in music.
Their on-and-off relationship lasted over five years before ending in 2014 when Diamond began a relationship with Ugandan-South African socialite Zari Hassan. Zari soon conceived Diamond’s first daughter, Tiffah, followed by a son, Prince Nillan. Diamond also has children with Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto and Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna.

Tanzanian media have speculated that Wema’s struggles with infertility contributed to their breakup, as Diamond was eager to become a father.
Since their split, Wema has openly shared her ongoing desire to have a child. She has endured several failed attempts, including two miscarriages during her relationship with comedian and former Big Brother Africa winner Idris Sultan.
In 2018, Wema traveled to India for specialized treatment and revealed she suffers from polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), a hormonal disorder that causes enlarged ovaries with multiple cysts, which can hinder fertility. While PCOD has no cure, certain treatments can help manage its symptoms.
