Unveiling the Real Reasons Behind Amber Ray and Phoina’s One-Year Friendship Hiatus

Kenyan socialite Amber Ray and beauty entrepreneur Phoina Tosha, known as Phoina, have finally revealed the reasons behind their 2021 friendship split.

Previously inseparable and often seen together at social events, their sudden fallout left fans speculating about the cause.

In 2021, Amber Ray publicly confirmed the end of their friendship but did not elaborate on the reasons. She stated that while she still believes in lifelong friendships, sometimes relationships have their seasons.

The long-awaited explanation surfaced in the premiere episode of their reality show, ‘NaiRich,’ which debuted on Showmax on August 30. The show, which includes other Kenyan celebrities like Risper Faith and KRG The Don, explores the lives of Nairobi’s elite.

During a wine-tasting outing with Amber, Risper, and Phoina, Risper inquired about their past fallout, prompting Amber to finally discuss the issue. Amber revealed she had viewed Phoina as a sister and was deeply hurt when she discovered that a man she was dating had shown interest in Phoina without being informed by her friend.

Amber expressed her disappointment and felt betrayed by Phoina’s lack of transparency regarding the situation. “I felt hurt because I saw you as my sister,” Amber explained. “You should have been upfront with me.”

Phoina responded, clarifying that while she had noticed inappropriate behavior from the man during a night out, she had no romantic involvement with him and was hurt by the accusations. She said, “If you think I stole your man, you should confront me directly.”
