Former President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed deep concern for Kenyans affected by the devastating floods ravaging parts of the country.
Nakuru, Nairobi, Homa-Bay, Garissa, Kisumu, Mombasa, and regions within Central, Eastern, and Rift Valley areas are among the worst-hit.
In a Tuesday statement, Kenyatta offered heartfelt condolences to families who suffered losses due to the heavy rains.
“Relentless rainfall has caused immense damage, displacing families, destroying infrastructure, and claiming lives,” he said, acknowledging the profound difficulties these communities face.

Kenyatta, highlighting the need for collective action, donated Sh2 million to the Kenya Red Cross Society to bolster relief efforts.
This exemplifies his call for national unity and emphasizes the importance of community support during such crises.
“We must stand together as a nation,” he urged, “demonstrating compassion, resilience, and solidarity.”

The former president stressed safety and vigilance. He advised Kenyans to exercise caution, avoid dangerous areas, and seek higher ground for their well-being. This serves as a crucial reminder to prioritize safety during the floods.
Call for Medical Assistance
Kenyatta further called on medical volunteers and healthcare providers to join the efforts in assisting those affected.
