Tyler Mbaya Opens Up About Living with Ex Georgina and Her New Partner
Tyler Mbaya has spent much of his life in the public eye, from his breakout role as Baha in Machachari to his widely followed relationship with content creator Georgina Njenga. However, nothing quite prepared him for the emotional rollercoaster of Take Me Home Season 2, Showmax’s reality dating show.
In a candid interview, Tyler discussed his unexpected reunion with Georgina, the awkwardness of coexisting with her new partner, and the valuable lessons he learned about love, closure, and personal growth.
An Unexpected Reunion
When Tyler agreed to join Take Me Home, he had no idea it would mean sharing space with his ex.
“Honestly, the news caught me off guard,” he admitted. “Being in a resort with people navigating complex relationships felt a bit awkward at first, but I decided to embrace the experience.”
The show places exes, new love interests, and singles in one setting, creating an emotionally charged atmosphere. For Tyler, the most challenging aspect was adjusting to Georgina’s presence while also making room for her current relationship.
Living with an Ex—and Her New Man
Sharing a living space with an ex is complicated enough, but doing so while they openly pursue a new relationship takes it to another level.
“The first few days were definitely uncomfortable,” Tyler shared. “Watching my ex and her partner figure things out while I was around felt strange. But over time, I adjusted.”
Despite the potential for conflict, he managed to stay out of the drama.
“I wasn’t directly involved in any chaos, but I witnessed plenty. It was actually entertaining at times,” he laughed.
Closure or a Second Chance?
Many fans speculated whether Tyler and Georgina’s onscreen reunion might rekindle their romance, but he quickly shut down that idea.
“I don’t usually seek closure—I heal without it. But since we share a child, our relationship couldn’t just be left in the past. My focus was on fostering a healthy co-parenting dynamic, not reconciliation,” he explained.
Still, old emotions resurfaced in unexpected ways. One of the biggest surprises for Tyler was noticing that Georgina still seemed uneasy about him moving on.
“During game night, she had some unexpected reactions,” he revealed. “I’m just a free spirit, and she needs to accept that.”
Personal Growth and Letting Go
Despite the drama, Tyler found the experience eye-opening.
“The show put me on a path of self-discovery. I learned a lot about myself, especially when it comes to self-love,” he reflected.
Looking back, he acknowledged that their relationship had clear red flags he had previously ignored.
“I also realized that sometimes love means letting go. In our relationship, I may have suppressed parts of her personality that are actually core to who she is. Now, she has the freedom to explore that with someone else,” he admitted.
A Show Full of Surprises
Beyond the emotional highs and lows, Take Me Home had its lighthearted moments. When asked who he would switch places with for a day, Tyler didn’t hesitate.
“Definitely my boy Chase! That guy was living the dream—two women by his side at all times. Come on, man!” he joked.
What’s Next for Tyler?
With Take Me Home reshaping his perspective on relationships, Tyler is ready for the next chapter—whether it’s acting, fatherhood, or even another reality TV venture.
As for his dynamic with Georgina? Only time will tell how their co-parenting journey unfolds outside the show.
