It’s important to note that this update only applies to traffic heading towards Thika.
For your reference, KeNHA previously advised motorists traveling to Thika to use Kiambu Road as an alternative route, connecting to the Northern Bypass towards Ruiru.
Heavy Rains Cause Infrastructure Disruptions
Kenya has been experiencing heavy rainfall since mid-March, with the intensity increasing significantly over the past week. This has led to widespread flooding and caused damage to transportation infrastructure across the country.
The flooding situation is so severe that the Ministry of Education was forced to postpone the start of the new school term for one week, until May 6th, 2024.
