“Thanks for the support” Wanyama sends message to his Kenyan fans after they staged peaceful procession in Machakos
Victor Wanyama’s fans took to the street in Machakos to show their support to the Tottenham star who is nursing an injury.
Wanyama has been out of action for months after sustaining knee injury. The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder picked the knee injury in August while preparing for EPL match against Burnley.
Wanyama was expected to return to action by December but his recovery has been slow. Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochetinho added to the fears that Wanyama may not return to action until next year after failing to provide a clear status of his injury.
Tottenham has been struggling without Wanyama’s service. Spurs lost two consercutive EPL matches to 5th placed Arsenal and 8th placed Leicester City before they finally beat Stoke City 5-1. Tottahham is currently 6th on the EPL table.
Wanyama get well soon
Victor Wanyama’s fans marched through the streets of Machako to show solidarity with the injured player. Fans the wore Tottenham Hotspur jerseys while others wore white T-shirts bearing Wanyama’s image.
Fans also carried banners written ‘Wanyama get well soon’. The Tottenham star sent a message to his fans after they showed him love.
“Thanks for the support Tottenham fan club in Kenya ,I promise to come back better and stronger very soon #COYS #God’sSpeed,” wrote Victor Wanyama.
