Zzero Sufuri takes us to church with ‘Bwana Wa Mabwana’ (Video)

Many people, including myself, never thought Zzero Sufuri – who is famed for his Zimenishika mega hit – would one day release a gospel song and I’ll be the first to acknowledge that we were wrong.

A few hours ago, the musician who was born and bred in Kabiria released a track titled Bwana Wa Mabwana and it has been ruling the airwaves.

Basically, this song is all about giving thanks to God for all the wonderful things that he has done and continues to do in our lives and acknowledging the sacrifice that Jesus made for us.

Although Zzero Sufuri’s first gospel song is a rendition of the popular praise tune titled Bwana Wa Majeshi, I’m sure that after listening to it, you’ll will agree with me that the execution is brilliant.

This jam is so infectious. I have listened to it a couple of times since it was released and every time I play it, it’s like I am hearing it for the very first time. Yup, it’s that good ladies and gentlemen.

As expected, Zzero Sufuri’s flow in this jam is impeccable, you just want to keep listening to him as he does hit thing and believe you me, Bwana Wa Mabwana might just uplift your spirit.

I know people have mixed feelings about Gengetone gospel but if the likes of Bahati, Masterpiece and Size 8 took this approach, I doubt we would even have a problem with them.

The beat and instrumentation on this track are impeccable. Other than the fact that they make the song catchy, they also blend well with Zzero Sufuri’s vibe, flow and tempo.

Zzero Sufuri recruits Mogi for ‘Love Me’ (Video)

Zzero Sufuri, who is arguably the most creative new-age artist and famed for his Zimenishika mega hit, has released a track with an upcoming musician by the name Mogi and it’s getting a lot of love from their fans.

The song dubbed Love Me is about a guy who’s trying to convince a certain lady to fall in love with him and not to let anyone or anything come between them. Put simply, it’s a love ballad.

To be honest, the first time I listened to this jam I was so confused because I could not really tell whether I liked it or not. However, the more I listened to is is the more I realized that it’s a masterpiece.

Perhaps, if you listen to it when you are stoned, it will slap even harder. And no, I’m not telling you do drugs because they are bad, aren’t they? I digress.

As you listen to this jam, you get to appreciate Zzero Sufuri’s sheer creativity. He has unique ability to match random words and ends up making some dope rhymes.

If you are a huge fan of the singer who hails from Kabiria, like myself, then I’m sure you know that he has been trying to change his sound this year.

Most of his releases in 2020 have not been about weed and whatnot but about love. If you ask me, that’s a step in the right direction especially because his songs are still catchy.

Mogi really spiced up this jam with his amazing vocals. Believe you me, this guy can really sing and the way he does it you sort of feel an instant connection but then again maybe that’s just me.

The beat and instrumentation on this jam are dope. Other than the fact they make Love Me catchy, they also blend so well with the vocals of both artists.

Zzero Sufuri is back with ‘Intentions’ and it’s the best thing you’ll hear today (Video)

It seems Zzero Sufuri is hellbent on changing his sound in 2020 because days after he dropped Maria, he’s back with a new jam that is also quite different.

Dubbed Intentions, this track is about informing a girl that he is eyeing what his plans with her are. He says he wants to take her to church and they will head out to smoke a blunt.

Later on, he will take her back home for another service because he has heard that she has a problem with her cervix – which is the lower part uterus – and if you are not a prude then I’m sure you know what this means.

I have been listening to this track on repeat since it was released a few days ago and every time I play it, it’s like I am hearing if for the first time.

Actually, as I was listening to it I was smiling the whole time because Zzero Sufuri’s creativity is on another level. He is one of a kind and a bad ass lyricist.

The Zimenishika hitmaker has some dope wordplay, the kind that leaves you scratching your head as you try to make sense of what he has just said.

For instance the verse where he says, “After service, twende nikufanyie service, naskia uko na shida kwa cervix, girl I know you deserve this, to be perfect inafaa tukuwe tukiprcatice.” Can we all give him a standing ovation for this?

The other thing that Zzero has proven in this song is that he can also sing his heart out and to add to that, he is doing it in English.  That hook is totally fire ladies and gentlemen.

Notably, the producer, Brayo K Wise, also did a good job on the beat. Actually, I totally love the fact that Zzero Sufuri is working with a different producer this year. That way, he is able to explore different sounds.

If at all there’s a Kenyan artist who surprises me with every subsequent release then it’s Zzero Sufuri. His creativity is on another level ladies and gentlemen.

You see, we’ve gotten used to the Matiati hitmaker singing about weed and whatnot but this time around, he decided to take things a notch higher.

His new song dubbed Maria is a love ballad of sorts. I bet you never thought you would see this day, did you? Well, it is finally here. Zzero Sufuri is pouring out his heart like never before.

As you can already tell, this jam is about a lady who is known as Maria and apparently, she is driving the singer crazy so much so that he is willing to do anything to keep her. You thought gangsters can’t fall in love huh?

In the song, Zzero Sufuri tells men to be cautious when they’re choosing their own Marias because some are just after their money, will drive them crazy and leave them suffering.

I totally love this song because it’s different from the norm. I have listened to it a couple of times since it was released and every time I play it, it’s like I am hearing it for the very first time. Yup, it’s that good.

Zzero Sufuri’s flow in Maria is on point. The fact that it’s a love song didn’t stop him from making some dope rhymes that sound so pleasant to the ears.

The beat and instrumentation on this jam are also sick. One of the things that caught my attention was, of course, the guitar sound because it’s so damn infectious.

The song titled Magode Choke is all about smoking weed. I mean, what were you expecting? Anyway, I’m joking. The fact that Zzero Sufuri has released yet another song about smoking weed does not mean that it’s whack.

What! Is this guy even human like the rest of us? Sometimes I wonder because his creativity is out of this world. He’s without a doubt one of the best lyricists that this country has ever seen.

The ragga and dancehall beat by Idrisa is also impeccable. This lad brings out the best in Zzero Sufuri since he knows him too well. I look forward to the two them working together for a very long time.

Zzero Sufuri is a creative genius

Every time I listen to a song by Zzero Sufuri, I can’t help but acknowledge his ingenuity. This chap is on his own level. His style is quite different from that of most new-age artists in that it really focuses on lyricism rather than random rhyming words.

Most people came to know about him when he released Zimenishika and I’m sure they have been hooked to his music since then. In my opinion, he is the undisputed king of the new Kenyan sound or ghetto anthems if you like.

As you listen to his songs, you can tell that his music will outlive that of his peers because of his uniqueness. Although he is more of a dancehall artist, there’s also a small element of mumble rap in his music. Maybe, just maybe this is what sets him apart.

It’s very hard to come across people like Zzero Sufuri, especially now that youngins are booking studio time to record whatever vulgar words or rhymes that comes to their heads. As such, we should give this lad credit not only for being creative but for also choosing to be different.

For many years to come, people will still be listening to his songs because although he sings about random things like smoking weed or getting a rich girlfriend, the thought process behind it is really impeccable. He is a creative genius.

The truth is most new-age artists are just popular because they had good beats, if you take it away you’ll realize that their music is hogwash. On the other hand, I am sure you would listen to Zzero’s songs even if they didn’t have a beat or an instrumental. That should tell you a lot.

Kenyan artists should be very worried about Zzero Sufuri

Kenyan artists, especially the new-age ones, should be worried sick about Zzero Sufuri. I can’t stress this enough.

Apart from the fact that his style is different, this young dancehall is getting popular by the day yet he’s not using explicity to grow his fan base. That is almost unheard of in Kenya!

Kenyan music has become so raunchy so much so that if you are not singing about sex, women’s rears, boobs or their genitalia then your people will disregrd your music. But you see, Zzero is not doing that.

Well, you could argue that he’s popular today because he gathered courage and released a song about smoking weed.

I’m not disputing that notion but let’s be honest, how many people can compose a song like Zimenishika? How many Kenyan songs are out there about smoking weed? How many of them garnered 900,000 views in 6 weeks?

The way I see it, Zzero Sufuri is very talented. He thinks outside the box. That way, he’s able to make music that can cut across audiences.

Chances are, most of the people who enjoy Zimenishika have no clue what a blunt looks like.

If you listen to his lyrics word for word, you’ll realize that he put a lot of thought when he was writing the song down. You’ll also notice that he has infused dancehall with mumble rap, isn’t Zzero Sufuri a genius?

One day, Kenyans will get tired of listening to explicit songs. It will be too much since every new artist thinks it is the only way to get known.

Believe you me, that day is just around the corner. The lamba lolo, geuka nikubeng and wamlambez singers should brace themselves.

When that day comes, the likes of Zzero Sufuri will be left standing because he’s actually talented!

Zzero Sufuri’s ‘Zimenishika’ is a masterpiece which should be banned (Video)

If at all there’s any new-age musician that I hold in high regard then it is Zzero Sufuri. Suffice to say, this young dancehall artist is very talented.

The first time I listened to any of his songs was in January this year. I came across a song that he had done with a lad know as Kadu as I was trawling the internet one one gloomy day.

The song titled Wase Wase was so good that I had it on repeat for the rest of that day. His style was different. I don’t have a word in mind that best describes it. All I remember is that I kept hitting the replay button.

Zzero released two  other songs after Wase Wase and then, he dropped a jam that will go down in the memories of music fans as one the best songs in 2019. It’s so good ladies and gentlemen.

Dubbed Zimenishika, the song is about smoking weed and the feeling around it. However, if you listen keenly, you’ll appreciate the fact that the lyrical flow was well thought-out.

As you listen to the song, especially the chorus, you’ll notice that it has a small element of mumble rap. Some of the words are almost incomprehensible.

Like the part where he says, “Kiko kwa kichwa kimejificha si ni kimbichwa yoh, si ni kienyewe kiko kwa kichwa kimejificha yoh, kiko kwa kichwa kimejificha si ni kimbichwa si ni kienyewe kiko kwa kichwa kimejificha juu ni kimbichwa eeh.”

This is my favourite part in Zimenishika. It’s a tongue twister of sorts. I always try to sing along when I’m listening to the song and fail terribly. You should try it too. I mean, why not?

The song’s beat is also superb. It’s a reggae beat with a hint of dancehall. It complements Zzero’s flow. It puts you in his shoes as he was recording the song so much so that you’ll find yourself using your TV remote as a microphone.

The video for Zimenishika was released a few days ago and I have a feeling that someone will one day wake up and ban it, just like they did with Alvindo’s Taka Taka. Anyway, I hope they’ll also see it as a work of art.

On the other hand, I’m hoping the song gets banned so that the world can see this great artist from Kenya called Zzero Sufuri. As you know, banning a song only makes it popular.
