Bahati addresses viral photo of Diana Marua and footballer Victor Wanyama

Musician Kevin Bahati has, for the first time, addressed the controversy surrounding a viral photo of his fiancée, Diana Marua, with star footballer Victor Wanyama.

The photo surfaced online in 2020, sparking widespread speculation and rumors about Marua’s alleged relationship with Wanyama.

Bahati used the same photo strategically to generate buzz while promoting his new show on Netflix. When asked if he had spoken to Wanyama before reposting the photo, Bahati responded:

“Why should I ask Wanyama if I can post the photo while it is him and his friend? Let me tell you something. I never said anything. Wanyama and Mariga are my friends. I even campaigned for Mariga in Kibra,” Bahati told Betty Kyallo on TV 47.

He went on to explain that his silence was misinterpreted.

“At times you see rumors, and when you are quiet, they fuel more rumors. But when you show people that it’s normal, they will keep quiet. In this show, we will address so many rumors and even more about our lives. The reason we posted it is because people always want to use it. You give people what they want. Kenyans want to feed a lot of negative energy, and we have been quiet.”

Marua also shared her thoughts, questioning why people felt they had a say in who her friends should be.

“You don’t want me to have friends? I can’t take pictures with people, or is it because he is a celebrity?”
Victor Wanyama is married and has a son with actress Serah Teshna.

Bahati revealed that he did not address the allegations to protect everyone involved.

“Most of my fans know that I adopted my son. When the photo was trending a while back, I don’t think he (Wanyama) had a thick skin like I have, and so one day it was trending, and it’s a cruel social media world. It got to him. If I came out to address it, it would not help anyone. I chose to be sarcastic about it and move on.”

Marua clarified that the selfie was taken during a casual hangout with mutual friends.

When asked by Betty Kyallo how she handles social media trolls, Marua said: “My husband (Bahati) has taught me to learn to die in public opinion. The same people who praise you today, will hate you tomorrow. It’s a cruel world. We ignore trolls most of the time.”

Bahati added that he is no longer affected by negative comments.

“I don’t care if she is trending or being trolled. Being real is so rare. The show will highlight the challenges we have gone through in our marriage over the seven years. If we become a perfect couple, we will not be inspiring anyone.”

Victor Wanyama reacts in anger to Kenyans on Twitter claiming he fathered Bahati’s eldest son

Renowned Kenyan footballer Victor Wanyama has condemned the digital manipulation of a photo of singer Bahati’s family.

The photo, which was shared on Twitter by an online user, @Wesley_Kibande, has been edited to include the faces of several celebrities, including Wanyama, next to Bahati’s children.

Wanyama took to Twitter to express his disappointment, calling the act “foolish” and “unacceptable.”

“This foolishness needs to stop now!!!” he wrote.

This is not the first time that Wanyama has been linked to controversy. In 2020, a photo of him and Diana Marua, Bahati’s wife, surfaced online, sparking rumors that they were having an affair. Marua denied the rumors, saying that the photo was taken when they were hanging out with mutual friends.

Wanyama has also been involved in a legal battle with socialite Shakilla, who claimed that he had paid her Sh700,000 for sex. Wanyama denied the allegations and sued Shakilla for defamation. The case was later withdrawn.

It is unclear why the photo of Bahati’s family was manipulated, but it is likely that the intention was to cause harm to Wanyama’s reputation. Wanyama’s condemnation of the act is a reminder that digital manipulation can be a serious issue with real-world consequences.

Victor Wanyama’s Fiancee Serah Teshna Gifts Him Ksh 2 mill+ Rolex Submariner Watch

Serah took to Instagram to show off the watch, which is made of 18ct yellow gold and has a black ceramic bezel insert. She also wrote a birthday message for Wanyama, saying:

“Happy birthday to the purest heart I know. No words can describe how much babyz and I love you. We wish you good health, genuine happiness, and success in abundance. Today is your day. Happy birthday daddy cool.”

The Submariner is one of Rolex’s most popular watches, and it is known for its durability and water resistance. It is also a status symbol among many people, and the price tag reflects that. The Submariner that Serah gifted Wanyama is estimated to cost US$12,550.

The starting price for a Rolex is around $4,000 for the brand’s most popular and simplest offering, an Oyster Perpetual. The average price of a Rolex across all models is $20,000 with the most expensive watches reaching between $30,000 and $40,000.

It is clear that Serah Teshna wanted to give Victor Wanyama a special gift for his birthday, and the Rolex Submariner is certainly a unique and thoughtful present. Wanyama is sure to enjoy wearing this watch for many years to come.

There you have it!

This is how I’ll make it. No more Faking it.

Picky Picky Ponkie…..

Well, that works perfectly in the art of sharing toys, and polishes infantile cheating, but falls bottom first in soccer prediction. I give up on that.

M-Bet Kenya happens.

Divock Origi in action
Divock Origi in action

I decide to join up. It’s easy. I don’t have a smart phone, but joining up is easy. I just Sms ‘M-BET’ to 79888, and get an instant free bet with a 50 bob deposit. A free bet, I intend to upgrade, though. If I had a smartphone, I would just have logged in via the M-Bet website, or downloaded the safe, faster and secure M-Bet App.

It’s a walk in the park downloading the premium M-Bet App

A bare minimum betting low-limit of just 25 bob appeals to me, plus the best odds in Kenya. That’s realistic. I ain’t breaking no bank. I have pampers to buy. To spice things up, M-Bet is awarding its customers with the official 2019 Harambee Stars jerseys this AFCON season, all you have to do is play 3 tickets today and you could be a winner.

It’s pretty easy to remember the deposit process details, too. The Safaricom or Airtel Money paybill number 298888 rolls off the tongue, and sticks in the mind. I intend to do a lot of deposits. Hell, no. I’ll be doing lots of withdrawals because winning is all I do. And, that easy, too.

So much for Picky Picky Ponkie….

I guess I shall overcome teething problems, and I’ll season out in this art. I shall play the PERFECT 12 Daily Jackpot, pretty simple, too. There is a list of 12 games plus 5 reserve games from different soccer competitions going on at the time – World Cup Women, Euro Cup Under 21, AFCON 2019 Kenya Premier League, EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga etc.

The trick is accurately predicting the outcome of all 12 games. Plus the outcome of the 5 reserve games, selecting 1, X or 2. That means Home Win, Draw or Away win. Well, there’s a puzzle. Why do I need to predict the outcome of the 5 reserve games?

Well, turns out the reserve matches aren’t initially considered, unless a game in the main list is cancelled. Lots of reasons may cause this cancellation – bad weather, for instance. Rowdy fans, we’ve seen this not only in Kenya but worldwide and such interruptions – like invading the pitch.

Things people do for love. Love for ‘Okombe’.

If only one game is cancelled, the first game in the reserve group is considered. If a second game is cancelled, the next team is considered. And so on, in sequence – 3rd, 4th, and 5th. It’s highly improbable to have such many cancellations, but, well, this is a little like having friends.

Ain’t it said its better to have a friend and not need one, than need one and not have one?

The PERFECT 12 jackpot win goes to the winner correctly predicting all the 12 games, but in the event that the gods are taking a nap and I manage 9, 10 or 11 games, I’ll still win huge bonuses. Perhaps, I’ll have to share the gigantic dummy cheque – and with a few others, the prize is equally distributed.

Well, a chauffeured Limo ride. Red carpet treatment. The photo shoot. That’s still a lot to smile about.

My crew is a skeptic lot when I introduced M-Bet to them, and did a mini-panel.

Maish: I don’t have a smartphone, boss.

I say: It’s easy. You can use M-Bet prime USSD, just dial *798# on your kabambe.

Ng’ang’a: My village has little internet coverage.Si kila mtu anaishi mtaani.

Oh, this guy Ng’ang’a runs a kiosk. He often threatens to close it, when we disrespect our debts.

I say: Use the USSD number. Dial *798# – doesn’t need internet. Just normal coverage. Next?

Tonie: Life’s hard, bro. How much money do I need?

I say: M-Bet is pocket-friendly, and has a low minimum figure at just 25/- bob only.Hio ni Samosa tu!

Tonie likes freebies, so I remember to tell of the instant Free Bet with the first 50/- deposit.

Tonie: Really? Niko ndani mbaya. Una load aje hio deposit?

I say: Just go to M-Pesa or Airtel Money M-Bet’s Paybill number is 298888, and on account, fill ‘Deposit’. Itaingia.

Kenya’s Victor Wanyama

I take leave from this noisy bunch. I want to Play the Perfect 12 Daily Jackpot.

When, not if, I win The Super Prize, I may buy a ride, perhaps German. I may remember you from our ‘walking’ days and give you a ride. If that happens, don’t go shouting greetings to everyone from the window – I hear that burns more fuel.

5 sports academies that have produced Kenya’s most seasoned footballers including Olunga and Wanyama

Europe and South America are the only continents that have won world cup in the history of international football. The main reason why these two continents produce the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and keep on winning world cups is because they nurture football talents from very early age.

Kenya is on the right path even though there is still much to be done. The country’s football academies have produced some of the greatest footballers including Victor Wanyama and Michael Olunga who play in English Premier League and La Liga respectively.

Below is a list of 5 football academies that have produced Kenya’s top cream footballers.

Liberty Sports Academy

The academy is based in Nairobi has over 25 youngsters who turn up to be fed with football basics every morning on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays and over the holidays.

Trainings are held at the City Stadium over the mentioned days. Liberty Sports Academy has produced Kenya’s most potent strikers such as Michael Olunga, Nicholas Meja and Charles Bruno who have played for various KPL teams.

Michael Olunga

JMJ Academy

JMJ academy in Nairobi West has produced several footballers who play in top flight European leagues. Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is a product of JMJ academy.

Other talents nurtured at JMJ academy include Ayub Timbe who currently plays as a forward for Beijing Renhe in the China League One, Johanna Omolo who plays for Belgian club, Royal Antwerp and Edwin Otieno Oluoch who played for Belgian Third division C side Sk Moelingen and several other clubs.

Victor Wanyama

Ligi Ndogo Soccer Club

Ligi Ndogo was founded in 2002 with the view of creating an enabling environment for young people to nurture their soccer skills outside a normal learning curriculum.

Notable graduates of the academy include Swedish international John Guidetti, Liberian former international Alex Karmo and Kenyan international Ayub Masika, Humphrey Mieno, Edwin Lavatsa and Jesse Were.

Some of FISA graduates include; Paul Were who plays for Kalamata FC in Greece, Kevin Omondi who played for Gor Mahia and Moroka Swallows in South Africa, Musa Mohamed who plays for Gor Mahia and Victor Ashinga who plays for Thika United.

Musa Mohamed

National Youth Talent Academy (NYTA)

NYTA’s formation was inspired by the 2008 post-election violence. The academy was formed with the aim of tapping raw talents that were being mismanaged by politicians for their selfish gains.

NYTA alumni include Musa Bashir who plays for Hong Dong FC in China, Abdul Malik who plays in Sweden, Andrew Murunga (Tusker), John Nairuka (Thika United) and Dashan Lebembe (Kakamega Homeboys).

Ulinzi FC is the biggest beneficiary with four ex-NYTA players – Justin Olwang’a, Anthony Muriithi, Peter Opiyo and Enoch Nabwire.

Anthony Muriithi

There is so much untapped talent in Kenya, some have not been able to make it to sports academies, yet they are so good in playing football.

Do you know any talented person whose story you can share? Whether they are playing football, hockey, rugby, tennis, athletics etc.

An initiative dubbed ‘Tujiamini’ was launched a month ago courtesy of SportPesa with the aim of giving such talented people a platform to nurture their talents.

Joho throws Victor Wanyama lavish feast at his palatial home in Mombasa (Photos)

Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama and his family were invited to Hassan Joho’s residence for a special dinner before the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder flew back to England.

The Mombasa Governor was quick to invite Wanyama to his home when he learnt that the Harambee Star captain was holidaying at the coastal city with his family.

Wanyama’s family at Joho’s residence

Wanyama, his elder brother McDonald Mariga, his mother and other family members all honored Joho’s invite to have a feast at his palatial residence in Nyali.

“This weekend I had the honour of hosting brothers Victor Wanyama of Tottenham Hotspur FC and McDonald Mariga of Latina Calcio FC, their mother and siblings for dinner. We discussed a variety of things including the potential and growth of youth football in Mombasa. These two Harambee Star players’ life story of humble beginnings, persistence, discipline and hard work has inspired youth to strive for greater things. It was a pleasure to hear from their mother, her side of their story. May the Almighty continue to bless their path and may their gift continue to be a story of inspiration,” Joho expressed his gratitude after hosting the Wanyamas.

Larry Madowo downplays decision by local authorities in Tanzania to pull down ‘Victor Wanyama Street’

Victor Wanyama had a street named after him in Dar es Salaam for a few hours before the road sign bearing his named was pulled down.

Local Tanzanian authority honored Wanyama by naming a street after him when the Harambee Star captain attended a football tournament in Dar as the guest of honor.

Ubungo Municipality however reversed the decision to name a street after Wanyama explaining that procedure was not followed in the process.

In his column on Daily Nation, Larry Madowo downplayed the decision by local authorities in Tanzania to pull down ‘Victor Wanyama Street’ arguing that the Kenyan government ought to be the one honoring Wanyama.

“On Sunday, the road sign was removed because the right procedure was allegedly not followed. That is surprising because a citation accompanying the naming of the road was signed by two senior officials of Ubungo Municipality, Aman Sizya and Yahaya Rashidi. Either way, the irony was not lost on anybody that Tanzania was honouring a Kenyan superstar before his home country had done anything,” Larry wrote in part.

Larry stated that the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder had done a lot for the community that raised him but local authorities hasn’t recognized his input.

“As I have said before in this column, Wanyama is one of the hardest working and driven people I have ever met. He is also a passionate supporter of football talent and has done a lot for the community that raised him. He is exactly the kind of man to spend his birthday playing and sharing a meal with disadvantaged children at the Thunder Football Academy in Kawangware.”

Tanzanian government explains why they pulled down ‘Victor Wanyama street’ after honoring the renowned footballer

A few days ago Tottenham Hotspur and Harambee Stars player had a street in Dar es Salaam named after him…something that saw him make major headlines in East Africa.

This happened moments after he attended a football match at the Kinesi stadium. The excited footballer went ahead to share the good news through his social media pages as he wrote saying….

However, the post baring his name was pulled down by the municipality of Ubongo which claims they didn’t not follow the right procedures while launching the streets new name.

Speaking during an interview Amani Sizya said,

“Kila jambo linautaratibu wake hata ukitaka kubadilisha jina la barabara lazima ufuate utaratibu kwahiyo hakukuwa na utaratibu uliofuatwa unajua ilikuwa haraka sana, lakini niseme tuu kwamba hili litafanikiwa na mtaa huo utatumika kwa jina hilo wakifuata taratibu,“

He is said to have flown in with his youngest brothers Hesky, Harry Gudda and friends for the ‘boys vacation’ and judging from the photos they are sharing on social media – they are definable having too much fun.

Victor Wanyama speaks Luhya during interview with news anchor

Victor Wanyama is ‘born Nai’, the Tottenham Hotspur defensive midfielder however hasn’t lost touch with his Luhya roots.

Harambee Star’s captain Victor Wanyama was born and raised in Nairobi. There is a perception out there that most Nairobi born only speak sheng and English. But not Victor Wanyama.

The Tottenham player who hails from Busia County, was able to speak Luhya during a brief interview with Bamba Sport anchor Nick Mudimba.

Wanyama was at Gelian Hotel in Machakos after training with the national team at Kenyatta stadium when Nick decided to inquire whether the ‘born Nai’ could speak some Luhya.

The German machine has since arrived in the 254 and it’s being used by the footballer’s family. The VW was last Saturday June 3rd spotted parked outside Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.

Victor Wanyama drove his expensive van to Machakos to join his Harambee Stars teammates who were training at Kenyatta Stadium ahead of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications.

The van’s exterior may not look anything classy but its interior is definitely the reason why it comes with the whopping 25 million shillings price tag.

The luxury 10-seater van comes with pricey accessories that include a refrigerator, coffeemaker, rotating seats, 3D TV screens and interior and exterior CCTV cameras.

This is why Huddah Monroe regrets why she bought VIP ticket to watch Victor Wanyama live in action against Chelsea

Huddah Monroe was among thousands of spectators who thronged Wembley Stadium in London to watch Tottenham take on Chelsea in a thrilling FA Cup semi-final.

Harambee Star’s captain Victor Wanyama was in action against Chelsea last Saturday April 22nd, unfortunately Tottenham were bundled out of the competition after being hammered 4-2 by The Blues.

Victor Wanyama in action against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium

Huddah Monroe regrets why she bought ticket for the Saturday match, but not because Wanyama’s team was beaten or the game didn’t excite her – not at all.

The socialite says she missed the real action, the ticket she bought was for a seat at the VIP section where everyone was courteous – Huddah wanted the noise and shenanigans of fans who were seated down below her.

She wished she could have bought regular ticket so that she could mingle and have fun with high-spirited fans at the lower section of the stand.

“The issue with siting at the Top Rows is that people act so classy ! VIP and shiiii ,Next time I go to a football match I’ll stay where the hooligans are, down there?? – that’s the real fun ! Screaming , making noise , slapping ? Overall , I had fun , it was a first for me but I did enjoy the moment ,what an ADVENTURE! THE WEMBLEY STADIUM – I made it!?” Huddah Monroe wrote.
