Timmy Tdat Vs Willy Paul Vs Khaligraph: Who is the best live performer?

When you attend a gig, you expect to be entertained and this largely depends on the performers and what they do on stage. Truth is, anyone can get on stage but very few people can own it. (I sound like a motivational speaker at this point).

I have attended a couple of gigs over the last few years and watched some on YouTube and in my honest opinion some of the best live Kenyan performers are; The Kansoul, Jua Cali, Juliani, Nameless, Sauti Sol, Avril, Timmy Tdat, Willy Paul and Khaligraph Jones.

Today, we’ll focus on the last three names because they are individuals who are current i.e. they don’t belong to any groups and they have been in the game for almost the same period of time and they are still relevant to date.

We would like to find out who among the three you consider the best live performer and why. What makes each of them stand out and why? We want to know how they manage to pull large crowds to their events.

Willy Paul

Willy Paul

Apart from having mad energy while performing, the Tam Tam hitmaker is known to pull stunts on stage. He always does something unexpected perhaps this is why his fans can’t get enough of him.

Timmy Tdat

Timmy Tdat

The Kipopo hitmaker is not only energetic, he also knows how to interact with the crowd. To add to that, he’s likely to dance seductively with a girl on stage during a gig.

Khaligraph Jones

Khaligraph Jones
Khaligraph Jones

The O.G as he is popularly known is good at crowd control. He’s not jumpy like the other two but if you attend his gig, you’ll definitely get value for your money. He has a unique style of entertaining his fans and in my opinion, it works for him.

According to you, who among the three is the be best live performer? Tell us!

Arrow Bwoy needs to be very careful

To date, I’m yet to come across a song by Arrow Bwoy that I didn’t think was a hit or that I didn’t vibe to at all. It almost as if everything he touches turns into gold. I’m sure you agree, don’t you?

The singer whose real name is Ali Yusuf this rare gift of infusing English, Swahili and Luganda lyrics and ends up with a very unique and beautiful sound. The beat justs complements his style.

Arrow Bwoy
Arrow Bwoy

Unlike what most people think, Arrow Bwoy is not a newbie. He has been in the game since 2012 when he was part of a group called QBIC. He ventured out on his on in 2015 and got his first hit Digi Digi in 2017.

Since then, his star has continued to shine so much so that he even landed collabos with Jamaican heavyweights Demarco and Cecile. This is not a small feat but I’m sure you already knew that.

Locally, he has worked with the likes of Gabu, Masauti, Otile Brown, Timmy Tdat, Nadia Mukami, Sudi Boy, King Kaka, Krg The Don, Voltage Music, Jovial just to name a few.

As you listen to all his songs, you can’t fail to appreciate his ingenuity. However, you’ll also notice that he sounds pretty much the same in all of them which to be honest, I feel like it’s something that might curtail his success.

Arrow Bwoy
Arrow Bwoy

You see, in as much as all songs are done by the same person, hence they will have the same voice, music fans expect you to vary your songs so that you don’t bore them the way Jaguar did. It’s just what it is.

In my opinion, Arrow Bwoy needs to be careful or he will lose relevance in no time. He should look for ways of varying his sound so that his fans don’t feel like they are listening to the same song over and over

Listen to his latest release dubbed Ngeta below.

Timmy Tdat has new jam ‘Achika’ and it seems like a diss track for Kush Tracey (Video)

Kenyan singer Timothy Owuor, alias Timmy Tdat, is back with a new jam that we can’t get enough of.

The song dubbed Achika was released two months after he treated his fans to Asante Baba alongside Rosa Ree.

Achika is a Swahili word which loosely tranlates to ‘be left’ (I know this sounds awkward but it is what it is).

Basically, if someone (you are dating) leaves then you should move on with your life and not cling on to them.

Timmy Tdat and Rosa ReeTimmy Tdat and Rosa Ree
Timmy Tdat and Rosa Ree

This whole song is a diss track but the question is who did Timmy Tdat write it for? Is it Kush Tracey because he even mentions name in the song. But then again, it could just be a random uninspired song.

Achika is a great composition. As expected, Timmy’s wordplay and rhymes on this jam is so on point, he has gotten back to the old Timmy we were all used to.

I loved the video but after watching Asante Baba, I was disappointed by the lack of raunchy scenes on this song. Don’t even judge me!

The song was produced by the one and only Vicky Pon Dis and as usual, he didn’t disappoint.

Watch Achika below and tell us what you think.

It’s official, Timmy Tdat is back to his winning ways!

There was a time when I thought Timmy Tdat’s music career had stalled but after listening to his last 3 releases dubbed Kipopo, Asante Baba and Achika, I’m convinced otherwise!

I don’t know how he did it but the musician whose real name is Timothy Owuor is back to his winning ways. He really is.

For the most part of 2018, I felt like Timmy was releasing flat music, even if you had the worst taste you not listen to that kind of music. Put simply, it was trash!

Some blamed his radio gig and said it was taking a huge chunk of his time leaving him with very little time to go to studio and maybe that’s true, maybe it’s not.

After quitting, Timmy has really been doing a lot better. It’s almost as if he’s a better version of his old self, like the Timmy we knew before he joined radio.

His worldplay, rhymes and delivery is unmatched. Maybe you think I am exaggeratting but I am not.

Timmy Tdat

It seems he also picked a few lessons along the way since he also broadened his wings by working with Tanzania’s baddest girl Rosa Ree. He even spends most of his time in that country but that’s a story for another day.

You can tell that I am excited as I write this article but the truth is I have been looking forward to this day. I’m sure some of you are in the same boat.

I hope that the lessons that he picked as he was trying to resuscitate his career stay with him. On top of that, I hope he will continue treating us to great hits.

Listen to his collabo with Rosa Ree dubbed Kipopo below.

Rosa Ree: the baddest Rapper in Tanzania

Rosa Ree is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter. This girl is a bad ass you know. At times am left wondering if she is always high while performing a song. Rumors has it that she and Kenyan Singer Timmy Tdat have a thing. Honestly, I do not care about this because it seems like she is doing well with the guy beside her in music.

Look at some of her work. Like in the remix she did with Timmy, it came out so well.  I like this girl. I think she is the first in Tanzania of her caliber. The way she does her music and her writing is just so unique.

Rosa Ree queen of rap.. Not even queen goddess of rap

Rosa Ree has a lot of energy and she brings out the vibe fully in her work. This girl is something else. Even though she grew up here in Kenya Rosa still has roots attached back to her home country.

Do you know that this girl is fierce and brave? Well thought you should know. Just looking at how she delivers here message. It shows a face that cannot be brought down anytime.

Rosa Ree was born in Moshi, Tanzania. Well could this be the reason she is always on fire? Well my thinking though.

Also, Rosa will be in the industry for long. Do you know why? This is because she is still energetic and she is not in a hurry to release music. Her voice is something that we are not willing to loose any time soon. She just needs to be consistent.

Recently, she has released a jam called ‘Champion’ where she has featured Ruby. You realize that this a girls collaboration.

How am I even forgetting the jam Banjuka? This piece of art is still my best followed by Asante Baba Remix. I must say that she has her own sheng’ could she have learnt it from Kenya?

She is vulgar, we are not going to argue about this. When she says Nikune na hapa and in another song she says Tingiza hiyo Thutha. It is just funny anyway.

Rosa Ree has a long way to go and bring a lot of fans on board to like her work. But we must agree that she is a superwoman in this game.

Timmy Tdat is slowly bouncing back after committing career suicide

If you are keen, you must have noticed that Kenyan musician Timothy Owuor, popularly known as Timmy Tdat, has gotten his mojo back. He’s slowly bouncing back after committing career suicide.

The Welle Welle hitmaker was at the peak of his music career when he landed a radio gig in March last year. He had been handpicked to host a drive show on NRG Radio alongside Mwalimu Rachael. Perhaps he took up the job because he was getting a fat pay cheque, who knows?

Timmy Tdat and Mwalimu Rachael
Timmy Tdat and Mwalimu Rachael

Coincidentally, Timmy also broke ranks with Kaka Empire, the stable that he had been signed to for 5 years (or so), around the same time.

As fate would have it, his music career started suffering almost immediately. Although he kept releasing new songs, they were just flat. Okay, I’ll just say it as it is, the songs were boring. His punchlines were weak and not as witty as was the case in his older songs.

People who had come to admire him for his lyrical prowess, including yours truly, thought that was the end for him. He lost so many fans and it seemed like his career was over. He had hit a dead end!

Toward the end of last year, peharps after noticing that his music career had taken a nosedive, Timmy decided to call it quits at NRG Radio. His explanation was that he had to focus on his music. That’s it.

He got into studio and at the beginning of the year, he released a new song dubbed Atekwe alongside Redsan. Although the song didn’t do well, it was clear Timmy was keen on winning back his fans.

Timmy Tdat and Rosa Ree
Timmy Tdat and Rosa Ree

He went quiet for two months, perhaps to restrategize, and reappeared in April with a new song dubbed Kipopo that he had done alongside Tanzania’s Rosa Ree. Three weeks later, Rosa Ree dropped the remix of her hit Asante Baba featuring Timmy.

Both songs have been getting massive airplay on local radio stations. If you listen to either of them, you’ll admit that Timmy has gotten his mojo back. This is the Timmy that we all came to love and admire.

I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us. I also hope that he’s not thinking of going back to radio. Clearly, that was a big mistake.

Listen to Asante Baba (Remix) below.

Rosa Ree Collabos with Kasabuni Finest Timmy Tdat for “Asante Baba” remix

Rosa Ree has dropped another BOMB! After releasing DipnWhineIt just a few weeks back, she has now come with Asante baba remix Featuring, Kasabuni Finest  Timmy Tdat.  The Tanzanian queen collabo with a Kenyan artist shows that Kenyan and Tanzanian artists can do better together. The jam was directed by Trey Juelz.

This remix is something that one needs to listen to. The voices in the song are magical and you all know how Timmy does it. I can’t get my eyes off this video. I feel that the duo should give us more collabos. The kind of love they are talking about here is out of this world. I like it when Timmy says “Sing for me mummy.” This guy is something else. The video is vulgar.

Production

The remix video is well done. Creativity at its best. The way the actions are brought out gives the song meaning and allows one to flow with the lyrics. Aso the audio is so clear, the beats will make you abandon what you are doing and dance to the tune.

Timmy Tdat has added taste to the song. Comparing the original single by Rosa Ree you will agree with me that the remix is on point. The energy of the duo combined makes the song more lively. The actual video does not rhyme with the words and also lip sinking was poorly done. Seems Rosa Ree needed Timmy. Looking at her youtube channel the remix has more views.

Lyrics

You know how Timmy does his introduction, that is exactly how he started in the remix of Asante Baba. ” Ettt-Kasabuni Tongwe Records Rosa Ree”. This will make you anticipate for the whole lyrics. “Anapenda vile napiga Anapenda vile na swagga Ni msafi anapenda vile nakata Me si prof na I don’t wanna data.”  This first stanza just is all about how the girl feels about the guy. Wanna what is the second stanza? Mmm! You can only do that by watching and listening to the song.

The goddess, Rosa Ree goes on and adds sauce to the song. “Ah sing fi mi daddy Put it in my face then you say my name daddy Ah, whine for me daddy Match in this race don’t run fast daddy” This girls lyrical prowess is great.  No rush in what the song is talking about.

Although the song is good, it can only be played on clubs. The song is targeting the youths and teens. I rate the song at 6/10.

Timmy Dta, Naiboi and Brown Mauzo, Femi One, all have new songs Which one are you feeling?

Three top Kenyan artists and one from Tanzania have new sounds sets to take the airwaves.

Singer Timmy Tdat has teamed up with Tanzanian rapper Rosa Ree for their new hit ‘Kipopo’.

‘Kipopo’ is produced by Hamado while the video is directed by Enos Olik. It was shot on location at Ngong Hills Wind Farm and Alchemist Club Nairobi.

After a rather long hiatus, rapper Shiko Femione has released a brand new song dubbed ‘Hiyo One’. ‘Hiyo One’s has been produced by Prvke + The Other Guys while the crisp video is directed by Ricky Bekko of Big Dreams Films.

Watch it below:

R&B Kenyan sensation Brown Mauzo is also back with another hit following the release of ‘Mawazo’ a month ago. This time, the mellow singer has raked in Naiboi for his new released dubbed ‘Hakuna Kulala’.

How TIMMY T DAT committed career suicide, other artists should learn from his mistakes.

When TIMMY T  DAT came to the music scene with his hit, Welle Welle, he was destined for greatness. The Kasabun rapper breathed fresh air into the industry by bringing in a new  style  and emerged as one of the most sought after rappers  in the 254.

Timmy’s hit Welle Welle that was fresh and unique dominated chats and every DJ had to play the banger before stepping out of  the club. The song was a monster and used to play everywhere from clubs, matatus and you probably heard your next door neighbor blazing the tune.

Timmy utilized his new found fame by churning out hits after hits from  Tumekubali, Dus Nyau, Trikide, Kasayole just to name a few  and won the hearts of millennials. He also maximized his good body physique by stripping off   in gigs to show ladies his well chiseled abs. By doing so, he gained a considerable fan-base among ladies.

The so called fisilets would attend Timmy’s shows and club appearances just to salivate on his muscled body. I once attended one of his club appearances at Tribeka Club in Nairobi’s CBD and bouncers had to form a ring around the muscled rapper after thirsty ladies stormed the dance-floor begging to touch his abs.

From making hits, dressing nice, unleashing erotic moves on stage like the famous Jamaica’s RDX group and showing off his well toned body, Timmy was a complete super-star.

But last year around March, Timmy committed career suicide after landing a job with NRG radio as a presenter. At that time, he was at the top of his career and dominated most of the local gigs.

The hefty perks involved in the deal with NRG radio that has been splashing money around trying to break through  with no success   probably excited the rapper, prompting him to try his luck in the competitive radio industry without knowing that he was hurting his flourishing  music career.

Timmy started hosting a show alongside Mwalimu Rachel dubbed Transit that had poor ratings. He dumped his thriving music career and concentrated on radio. Timmy only released half-baked songs to keep him afloat in the industry. The songs didn’t make so much impact on  the airwaves.

The Kasabun rapper realized he was not destined for radio after the show’s poor ratings and quit his job at NRG radio late last year to concentrate on music. But it was too late. He had already lost a  huge fan base.

The youthful and trendy Ethic Group from Eastlands that is behind the viral  Lamba Lolo hit took over from Timmy after he slept on his music career. The millennials Timmy had captured started lending their ears to Ethics.

The Kasabun rapper has been trying to make a comeback but the journey to reclaim back his position seems tough. He recently tried to make a major comeback by releasing a song with Redsan dubbed, Atekwe, that received little airplay.

When you collabo with a heavy weight like Redsan and the song fails to make any impact in the airwaves, know that your music career has stalled and you need to come up with a  proper  strategy to win back your fans.

Will Timmy prove us wrong by churning out monster hits like he used to do before  and reclaim back his position as one of Kenya’s  most sought after rappers? Well, let’s wait  and see.

But the journey seems tough for now.

Timmy Tdat should pull up his socks before it’s too late

Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge Timmy Tdat fan. I, however, feel that his last two releases dubbed Pogna Matin and Atekwe weren’t all that. Well, I could also be wrong.

The rapper, whose real name is Timothy Owuor, has been churning out club bangers since he debuted on the local entertainment scene more than 5 years ago.

The song that made Timmy Tdat a household name was Welle Welle. However, what is not known to many of his fans is that he had been in the industry for 6 solid years before he got his big break.

He remixed the song with an all-star line up and released other chart- topping hits such as Dus Nyau, Inaweza, Haitosi, Trickydeh, Nje, Wembe and earned a spot as one of Kenya’s most bankable artists.

However, it seems Timmy has decided to change tack somewhere along the way. Maybe he has been rebranding. His punchlines in his recent songs are weak and not as witty as the case in his older songs.

I doubt any of his recent releases, save for his collaboration with Arrow Bwoy dubbed Mary Jane, are getting airplay on local radio stations.

Maybe he should rethink his strategy and pull up his socks because Kenyans will forget him faster than he appeared on the music scene.

What do you think of Timmy Tdat’s most recent songs? Leave a comment below.

Khaligraph Jones envies Timmy Tdat… wants to start performing topless like him

Timmy Tdat is the king of stage if his ratchet performance is anything to go by. Apparently Timmy inspires other artistes, Khaligraph Jones now wants to take a leaf from him.

Performing topless and grinding on female revelers is a must for Timmy Tdat, the rapper has sparked uproar countless times thanks to his ratchet performances.

But Khaligraph now wants to emulate Timmy, the Kayole rapper also wants to start performing topless… but not grinding on women.

“Music has been paying my rent” Timmy Tdat reveals why he ditched his radio career

Timmy Tdat landed his first radio job in March 2018. He hosted a daily show dubbed ‘Transit’ which aired from 3.00pm – 7.00pm alongside Mwalimu Rachel on NRG radio.

Timmy however ‘disappeared’ from radio just after a few months, speculations ran rife that the rapper had been sacked from his job.

The ‘Kasayole’ hit maker however dismissed the rumor saying that he opted to leave NRG radio on his own after weighing his options.

Music comes first

In a recent interview with Mzazi Willy Tuva, Timmy explained that he chose music over his radio career because music comes first to him and that he decided to be a full time musician after failing to strike a balance between the two.

“I love radio but my first love is music. Music has been paying my rent, its what keeps my mum happy and comfortable. Music is a jealous business and you cannot share it with something else,” said Timmy Tdat.

Shock and awe as video of Timmy Tdat having fun with woman in her birthday suit emerges

Timmy Tdat is at it again! The controversial rapper has been embroiled one too many times in ratchet dramas with multiple women.

Timmy sparked uproar during his performance at the Hype Fest held on April 9th, he lifted a lady’s skirt on stage to expose her panties.

The rapper also clashed with a Central Kenya MP for casting his daughter in an upcoming video. The MP demanded that he edit out his daughter.

Bathroom romance

Timmy once again made tongues wag when he was seen in another ratchet video. The rapper is seen recording a video in the bathroom, the video shows a totally naked woman chilling in the bathtub as Timmy records the video.

Watch the clip below:

He didn’t change! Timmy Tdat dances erotically with yet another girl in Kisumu (Video)

Timmy Tdat sparked uproar after dancing erotically with a lady at Mr Eazi’s Concert two weeks ago. Apparently the Kasabun rapper didn’t learn a thing from his experience.

Timmy was forced to apologize for his conduct after he was blasted over his offensive performance. Anyone would think he learnt his lesson following public outcry.

Kisumu experience

Timmy performed at Buccaneers Night Club in Kisumu over the past weekend and he once again caused a stir. The rapper pulled off another erotic dance with a half naked lady.

Guess he wasn’t tempted to undress her because the lady was rocking a tiny hotpant unlike the Nairobi woman who was wearing double slit dress.

Timmy regrets his action at Ngong Racecourse during Mr. Eazi’s concert. The rapper apologized to the lady he undressed and also said he was sorry for failing the boy child.

“I want to take responsibility for what happened because I was in charge and could have controlled everything that happens on stage. I could have taken control of the situation. The crowd charged me, we were overwhelmed. I take full responsibility, I apologize to the girl in the question. I apologize kwa maboy child for not representing them well, and I apologize for kwa mafans,” said Timmy during an interview with Pulse Live.

Sauti Sol’s former publicist Anyiko lashes out at Timmy Tdat for exposing lady’s full butt and panties to the crowd

Anyiko Owoko has no nice words to say after Timmy Tdat ‘humiliated’ a lady on stage. The rapper pulled off an erotic move that sparked mixed reactions.

Timmy loves grinding on random ladies’ buttocks while performing. The ‘pulls up to the bumper’ is a common erotic dance style where ladies bend over and rub their butt against men’s crotch.

It’s not ok!

Over the weekend Timmy performed at the Mr. Eazi’s concert at the Ngong Racecourse and as usual he ground on ladies’ butt. The rapper however rose eyebrows when he pulled up a lady’s dress and exposed her yellow panties to the crowd.

Anyiko Owoko was not particularly pleased by Timmy’s action. The popular publicist strongly condemned the rapper in a post on social media.

She says what Timmy did at Mr. Eazi’s concert was disrespectful, disgusting and unacceptable. Anyiko calls on all male artists to stop mishandling women while performing.

Talk of embarrassing moments.

She added:

“As I maneuvered to the toilets (it) was almost impossible as the crowd was huge. The situation got so bad that I couldn’t hold it anymore. I almost peed on myself in the process. As a matter of fact, I did but thanks to my black pants, the wet patch was invisible.”

The fight was all about a woman! Timmy Tdat brags about ‘chewing’ Otile Brown’s girlfriend

Otile Brown and Timmy Tdat exchanged blows at Vanessa Mdee’s dinner party on Sunday night January 28th. Apparently the two artists locked horns all because of a woman.

Otile and Timmy have been attacking each other on social media since the Sunday fight. Otile recently referred Timmy as a woman rep with a big mouth.

“Kasabunians, your woman representative can’t shut his big mouth. I am playing it cool but he is out here giving false information and so I won’t be quiet. Wish he could say what truly happened hehehe… Never underestimate a singer or the quiet ones, utapigwa ulie,” wrote Otile Brown.

It’s not my fault your girlfriend is a loose woman

Timmy Tdat on the other hand intimated that his beef with Otile started because of a woman. He bragged about bedding Otile’s girlfriend.

The rapper further taunted Otile saying that he was dating a loose woman. He stated that it was not his fault that he slept with Otile’s woman.

“Sasa kama mtu wako yuko loose kama change,si umweke kwa mfuko..coins ni rahisi kulost na unacheza nazo karibu na shimo ya choo my G!Hope ume learn,” wrote Timmy Tdat.
