I’m a big fan of Eko Dydda like I am sure most of you are and that’s why I thought you should know that he has a new track.

The jam dubbed Tawala, which is a Swahili word that means reign, is without a doubt one of his best releases to this day. Believe you me it, beats the likes of Vidole, Reason, Cheki Vile etc. hands down.
Tawala is a beautiful praise song that talks about letting God’s spirit reign so that you can remain at peace no matter what is happening around you.
I absolutely love this jam. Other than the fact that it is well-arranged, it also epitomizes Eko Dydda’s growth since we came to know about him about a decade ago when he released Reason alongside Holy Dave.
Not that I had any qualms with it but it seems, he got tired of the ‘stammer rap’ that most of us came to know him for back in the day.
If you ask me, he’s much better at singing and maybe, just maybe that’s why many people, including myself, resonate with Tawala other than the fact that it carries a powerful message.
I know you will agree with me that the background vocalists really spiced up this jam. I keep imagining what it would sound like without their beautiful harmonies and I don’t think it would be as good.
The beat and instrumentation are also on point. They both make Tawala catchy nevermind the fact that it’s a gospel jam. The video execution was also simple but really dope.
Watch Tawala below and tell us what you think. Enjoy!
