Nothing beats young love! I mean, it makes you feel like you’re floating on air; and I guess this is what young singer Swat is currently experiencing with his baby mama, Natasha aka Munii.
The two love birds who have been making headlines since introducing their newborn son; and as much as many think that Swat rushed into marriage – we cannot judge him since he has proven to be more responsible than some grown men out here in Nairobi.
As many continue to admire this young love, Kamati ya Roho chafu is also watching closely and continue to leave comments with their slogan mtawachana tu but sini life!
Can your baby mama even
While 23 year olds prefer partying and sinning – Swat’s young girlfriend (looks 20-22years) is committed to playing wife to the young Ethic singer.
Munii is no average young girl as she has looks of a goddess which explains why Swat remains faithful; while his age mates continue to jump from one msupa to another. Anyway below are a few photos of the young girl who has caught the attention of Swat and very many others who keep sliding in her DM.
When Ethic released their latest single dubbed Figa about a week ago, their fans couldn’t help but admire how much they had grown.
While some remarked that they had ‘taken a shower’, others joked that the group was no longer Ethic but Ethique because of the massive transformation that they had undergone.
The group that is made of Rekless, Zilla, Seska and Swat has improved in so many ways since they made their debut in the local entertinment industy in 2018 with the mega hit Lamba Lolo.
Just like wine, Ethic keeps getting better with each new day. Sometimes I feel like they are out to win the hearts of the people who couldn’t stand them when they joined the industry.
Maybe you noticed, maybe you didn’t but their lyrics in Figa were well-thought out. They weren’t just throwing words arounds as was the case with Lamba Lolo.
Their sense of style has also improved significantly. Their outfits in their latest single were really on point so much so that it became a topic of discussion on social media.
The song was also above par i.e. the audio an video quality. It probably set them back a couple thousands of shillings but let’s be honest, who wants to listen to a whack audio or watch a low quality video in this day and age?
Lastly, their marketing was also on point. They made some their fans to set alarms just so that we could be among the first to watch the song and when it finally dropped, it was a topic of discussion on social media for the next few days.
It’s really interesting to see Ethic grow from amateurs to professional. I hope can only hope that they will keep at it!
Wakali Wao, who in my opinion are the most underrated Gengetone artists in Kenya, have released a new track with Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice and Mtukutu and it’s a big tune.
The song titled Katatamba has been getting a lot of airplay since it came out a few days ago and to be honest, we are also feeling it.
Katatamba is so infectious. I’ve listened to it a couple of times since it was released and every time I play it, it is like I’m hearing it for the fist time.
If you chose not to concentrate on the dirty things that they are singing about and focus on the wordplay and rhymes, you’ll realize how talented these youngsters are.
Both Iano Ranking and Kim Swat have a unique ability to play around with words and make dope rhymes. To add to that, they also have a natural and impeccable flow that gets you hooked instantly.
It is so hard to pick who between the two had the dopest verse in Katatamba but if I had to chose then I would say it is Iano Ranking.
As expected, Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice also brought his A-game. His verse is too lit and you just want to keep listening to him over and over.
Mtukutu was not too bad either. He also laid down a dope verse and it makes you wonder why Ethic kicked him out in their early days. Amway, that’s a story for another day. Isn’t it?
The beat was also on point. The producer did not let us down I must say that he did not let us down. I was literally dancing on my seat as I was writing this review.
Listen to Katatamba below and tell us what you think. Big up to Wakali Wao, Swat and Mtukutu.
Ethic Entertainment, the group that introduced Kenyans to the Gengetone sound, has released a jam to sensitize the public about the deadly COVID-19 virus which has caused the death of 35,000 people across the world so far.
As expected, the song titled Quarantei has been ruling the airwaves since it came out a few hours ago and we are also feeling it.
While this track puts emphasis on as such as; self isolation, social distancing and sanitizing, there are so many things in it that have nothing to do with corona virus. I guess they were just trying to be creative and relevant.
That said, Quarantei is a big tune. Whoever said that Gengetone is dead should listen to this jam because maybe, just maybe, they might have a change of heart.
The lyricism on this track is dope. These youngins are so creative and this is evidenced by their wordplay skills. Trust me, once you start listening to them, nothing will make you stop, even if your house if on fire.
I have been trying to figure out whose verse I love the most and I must go with Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice because he did a good job. Although his rhymes were random, they are not to predictable as is the case with many musicians.
Notably, Rekless also nailed the hook. It is so infectious and to add to add to that, it blends well with the verses of the other members of the group.
The beat, which was produced by the one and only Motif Di Don, was not too bad though I must say that it is kind of monotonous if you compare it with their previous releases.
About the video, I feel it was lazy. However, we’ll forgive them because there isn’t much that they could do because of strict regulations that have been put in place by the government because of corona virus.
The track dubbed Soko, which is a Swahili word that means market, has been getting good airplay since it came out a few days ago and understandably so. This jam is too lit ladies and gentlemen.
As you listen to this jam, you can not help but admire the sheer creativity and the unique gift to match words of Ethic Entertainment members who are; Rekless, Zilla, Seska and Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice.
Although some people may claim that they’re speaking in tongues, especially Swat, their rhymes sound so pleasant to the ears and it kind of makes you wish that the song was a bit longer.
Other than Swat, I must admit that I totally loved Zilla’s verse. His flow is so good that it makes you wonder why he’s so underrated but that’s a story for another day, isn’t it?
Notably, the hook by Rekless was also dope. It’s so catchy that you might even master the whole of it after listening to this jam once, or maybe twice. I’m not kidding.
It goes like,”Ahh, una toto na ameiva iza, juu mi ni fisi bado sija-shiba, hadi poko mi na-piga mimba, juu kwa soko ka ni diva lipa, diva lipa lima ahh*4.”
The beat is also dope. Though I have a feeling that some of you will say that the sound has become too monotonous. I am of the contrary opinion because this jam slaps so hard.
Listen to Soko below and tell us what you think. Enjoy!
The much-awaited track by Andrew Kibe, Kamene Goro, Xtian Dela, Ex Ray, Magix Enga, Timmy Tdat, Kristoff, Jua Cali and Harry Craze titled Nyoka Ya Shaba is finally out and it is eliciting mixed reactions from their fans.
Although the song, which was released a few days ago, has been rocking the airwaves it has left Kenyans wondering if Gengetone is on its deathbed with some saying the sound has become too cliche and/or predictable.
I have listened to the jam a couple of times since it came out and to be honest, I so indifferent because part of me was wowed and at the same time I feel there is nothing to write home about it.
I must give it to the musicians who were featured in this jam. I really loved how they were playing around with words and their rhymes were also sick.
If I had to pick 3 artists whose flow totally jazzed me then I’d settle on Timmy Tdat, Harry Craze and of course Baba Yao himself Jua Cali.
I’m not saying that Kristoff, Ex Ray and Magix Enga didn’t come through on Nyoka Ya Shaba, they actually did. The hook by the latter is so infectious that you will fill yourself singing along in no time.
Kristoff, who is often referred to as the King of Collabos, also aced it. His verse is so catchy and I am pretty sure you won’t forget the part where he said, “Niaje Kamene (mambo), kam nikukiss hii si Kameme (eiii).”
The artists who were featured in this song were well-thought out because their styles complement each other. Think of it like having the best of different worlds. I only wish they had included Rekless or Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice.
The beat by Magix Enga was sick. As you listen to this song, you can picture people busting moves to it at a party or a club.
The video, which was directed by the one and only VJ One, was also impeccable. Other than the sexy vixens, you will also agree with me that it had some dope shots and the scene transitioning was flawless.
In as much as I love this jam, I have to say that as you listen to it you can feel that Gengetone is dead because it does not slap as hard as the songs which were released in 2019 but then again maybe it’s just me.
Watch Nyoka Ya Shaba below and tell us what you think. Enjoy!
The song dubbed Maji Maji epitomizes growth of the group, which is made up of Rekless, Seska, Zilla and Swat since they made thier debut on the local entertainment scene.
Although their lyrics are still risque, you’ll agree with me that their punchlines and rhymes are more solid and tighter than their previous releases.
Of course, Rekless really came through on this jam. The hook is really catchy and easy to remember and we have him to thank for this. Anyway, would a song by Ethic slap hard if the hook was not done by Rekless? I wonder.
I also loved Zilla’s verse. He nailed it. I don’t know why he often overlooked yet he is really dope and has some heavy punchlines.
The beat was produced by the one and only Motif Di Don and even before you listen to it, you can tell that it’s sick. If you love Gengetone than I am pretty sure that you will enjoy this jam.
New-age artists have taken over so much so that established artists i.e. those who have been in the game for 5 years or longer are almost unheard of since they barely get airplay on TV and/or radio stations.
In a bid to remain relevant in the local entertainment industry, some established artists have been doing collabos with the new crop of local artists. However, this has not sat well with many people.
A good example is Jua Cali who has been the talk of the town in the past one week after word went round that he was working on a song with Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice and Odi Wa Murang’a.
Whichever way you look at it, the legendary musician has stooped to low by working with the two. Those who have always held him in high regard, including yours truly, have lost respect for him.
Granted, the new Kenyan sound is hot on the streets and in clubs at the moment but I never though we’d see Jua Cali, of all people joining, the bandwagon.
Think of it though, what will you think of the Kiasi hit maker if you heard him singing things like Lamba Lolo, Wamlambez and Punyeto? Would you still admire him?
For someone who has had a career spanning two decades, you would expect that he has learnt the ropes and will stay afloat in the industry come what may but that seems not to be the case.
To be honest, I’m on of the people who is really waiting for his collabo with Odi Wa Murang’a and Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice to drop because I want to see how far he is willing to go to reclaim his fan base.
The argument that he is trying to ‘lift’ the two is invalid because anything that they touch turns into gold instantly. As such, Jua Cali might be the one who’s in need of ‘lifting’.
