At least 60 students from various secondary schools in the Rift Valley region were arrested on Wednesday in Nakuru Central Business District for watching porn and smoking Bhangi.

According to the police, over 200 students were in gaming/ movie shops watching porn but police managed to arrest only 60. The rest escaped.

The students were arrested at around noon following a tip-off from members of the public and traders at Shoppers Paradise Mall on Kenyatta Avenue in Nakuru.

“There were actually more than 200 watching the pornographic materials from more than five movie outlets in Nakuru’s Central Business District,” said Nakuru East assistant commissioner John Kichwen.

“The public has seen large groups of students in uniform getting into the premise. After a thorough investigation we discovered that the students have been visiting the premises to watch movies and pornography,” Nakuru East official James Kinari said.

Police also said that they arrested seven operators of the PlayStation shops among them two minors. The arrests come as schools are closing down for the August holiday.

Students make clean 500,000K in 30 minutes selling fake Nasty C tickets from a Toyota Premio

A clique of young hustlers has been arrested after they were caught selling fake tickets during the Hype Fest in Ngong’ Racecourse.

According to reports, the eight youngsters, who have been scamming event organisers millions of shillings, were caught in a Toyota Premio printing the fake tickets during the Nasty C’s event at the Waterfront.

It’s estimated that they made a cool Ksh 500,000 in just 30 minutes after printing them and selling at a lower price than the originals.

“We caught eight kids operating from a Toyota Fielder in the parking lot selling fake tags. They had a whole shoe box full of different tags, they even had tags for the Rick Ross concert,” said the organisers.

According to the organisers, in good day, the kids make at least 600, 000 shillings. They buy one ticket and quickly photoshop and make others just outside the event.

“If your ticket goes for Ksh8,000 VIP, he’ll sell the tag to you at half of that. He sells 30 VIP tickets, that’s 120,000 quick and all he spent on the tags plus art work (if any) is probably Ksh6,000. Once he’s sold, he ghosts the scene,” says one of the event organisers who nabbed the university kids.

Photos of grown male and female students lying on the ground in their underwear while their teachers flogged them have caused uproar on social media.

Just when you thought corporal punishment had been abolished in schools then you see photos of students being flogged semi-naked by teachers… can’t help but wonder whether some teachers have a breakdown in their ability to think.

But then again the incident didn’t happen in Kenya, it took place several miles away in central Africa – Cameroon to be precise.

The internet was shocked to see photos of students at a public school in Baham, west Cameroon being flogged while they were half-naked.

Apparently the grown male and female students were ordered to strip down to their underwear and lie on the ground by the teachers. Reason being? They were late to report to school.

But why would the grown students allow teachers to humiliate them like this? Just three weeks ago back home in Kenya standard six pupils at Kirimon primary school in Samburu East attacked and caned five teachers who had punished them severely.
