Sharon Otieno’s parents: Don’t pray for Governor Okoth Obado

Sharon Otieno, the Rongo University student killed in a gruesome manner last year leaving the country in shock, has now been buried for three months but her killers are yet to be prosecuted.

Otieno’s parents Melida Auma and Douglas Otieno recently shared with Daily Nation that they are still grieving following the death of their daughter who was seven months pregnant. Migori Governor Okoth Obado was charged with the murder and was released on a Sh 5 million bail by High Court Judge Jessie Lesiit.

“My daughter’s death should not be in vain. It aches our hearts that things suddenly went silent, but we hope justice will finally be done and her killers will be made to pay for their sins,” Auma said.

Sharon’s mother in the interview said that it was ironic how Obado was asking Kenyans to pray for him after the charges. Melida argued that it’s them who need the prayers since they lost loved ones.

“Who is praying for us especially Sharon’s orphaned children? Why should he be prayed for before us? Our spirits are still very low and we are left to wonder why he did not call for prayers for a girl he claimed to have loved,” she said.

Pain

Sharon’s father said he visits her grave regularly but his wife has not visited the grave site since the burial as it pains her.

“I usually wake up early at times at 4 am to just go visit her grave. It satisfies me to know she and her baby lie beneath the soil,” Otieno said.

Sharon’s mother sends emotional message after meeting Obado

Sharon Otieno’s mother is in dire pain after her daughter was killed by Governor Okoth Obado. The slained Rongo University student’s mother broke down into tears while giving an emotinal speech on Monday saying that the governor should be given a tough sentence.

In an emotional interview, Melida Auma opened up how the case has been tormenting her and how the governor betrayed her daughter.

I felt tormented and wondered how he could just be involved in the brutal killing of my beloved child. I asked myself endless questions on just how he could have betrayed my child who loved him a lot,” Auma said in an interview with the Nation.

Bitter

Auma said she was yet to come to terms with the tragic death of her first-born daughter, who was seven months pregnant with the governor’s son when she was abducted and killed in Homa Bay three weeks ago.

“I felt scared. How could the man in front of me lead to the death of my heavily pregnant daughter and her unborn child? This is unexplainable, it is too much for me and I do not want to talk about it. How could some of her killers still afford to be free, three weeks after they brutally murdered my daughter who was a jewel to me. I felt bitter.”,” she said.

Mike Sonko: Governor Obado shame on you, you should have used a condom

Governor Mike Sonko has blasted fellow Governor Obado and his PA after the two were accused of killing Sharon Otieno.

According to different sources, the governor tried forcing the young lady to abort. The young girl lost her life because she allegedly refused to abort.

Mike Sonko has now fired at Obado asking him why he didn’t use a condom in the first place if he didn’t want to get her pregnant.

He spoke boldly accusing Obado and calling him out to have asked Sharon to abort then killing her.

Shame

“Governor Obado shame on you. I don’t know why you fear each other. A postmortem was done and Sharon was stabbed 6 times in the stomach because governor Obado told Sharon to abort and she refused. why didn’t he use a condom?” said Sonko.

He went on:

“I am urging DPP, to stop playing with Kenyan’s family. Governor Obado should be jailed.”
