The cover which is a total remake, has a dub feel to it thanks to the Decimator himself Eric Musyoka. Renowned Gospel reggae artists Hope Kid and Guardian Angel liked the beat and even applauded Musyoka.

“There is no way you can retire from music” Khaligraph expresses disappointment with Sauti Sol

No one retires from music

Khaligraph was featured by Sauti Sol in a song dubbed ‘Rewind’ which was released on March 2018. This explains why the rapper can’t stomach news about Sauti Sol’s retirement.

Speaking to Word Is, the rapper said Sauti Sol’s announcement was a hole load of bullcrap. Khaligraph is of the idea that no musician really retires from music.

“What I think of that is total nonsense. You can never retire from music. I wish they said that when I am present. There is no way you can retire from music. I can’t let that happen. Nobody is retiring from music, especially Sauti Sol,” said Khaligraph.

“I stopped working for Sauti Sol in January 2017” Anyiko Owoko absolves herself from Sauti Sol’s saga

Sauti Sol’s popular publicist Anyiko Owoko has absolved herself from the saga involving the music group. Anyiko says she shouldn’t be dragged into Sauti Sol’s mess because she no longer works for them.

For starters, Sauti Sol made a big mess when they decided offer models food and exposure as incentives to appear in their upcoming video.

Anyiko in the mix
Sauti Sol and Anyiko Owoko

Anyiko’s name has been dragged into Sauti Sol’s mess because of the statement the music group issued after the email to models was leaked.

“We have been made aware of an email going around asking models to appear in a Sauti Sol dance video production for no compensation. The production email address it was sent from is often used by 3rd party contractors and in this case they clearly got it all wrong.

“We believe in fair compensation for all work in the entertainment industry and do not condone the “exposure” speak. We believe our track record speaks for itself. Needless to say, we have terminated our contract with the production company involved and apologize for this misunderstanding,” the statement from Sauti Sol read.

Most people thought the statement was the work of Anyiko because they didn’t know the publicist had stopped working for the singing quartet.

January 10th last day

Anyiko has since clarified that she stopped working for Sauti Sol on January 10th 2017. She further reveals that her PR company had only worked with Sauti Sol for their two singles ‘Melanin’ and ‘Girl Next Door’.

“I’ve been receiving numerous calls regarding this recent @sautisol statement, and tweet response. Let’s be clear – I am no longer working as Publicist to Sauti Sol. My last day was January 10th 2017. However my company @anyikopr has done PR – ONLY – for their last 2 singles “Melanin & Girl Next Door” Anyiko Owoko posted.

Sauti Sol cancels video shoot after controversial ‘food and exposure’ email to models is leaked online

Sauti Sol want models to feature in their music video for free and in return they will give them food and exposure. This was revealed in a leaked email to models who were invited to appear in their upcoming video.

Sauti Sol announced on social media that they were looking for models to feature in their next video. The quartet said that the female models should be between the age of 18-25 years.

“PSA: This is a casting call to all female models between the age of 18-25 years old from Nairobi needed for a shoot on Monday next week. Kindly submit your full body and portrait shots (front and side) to [email protected]. Deadline is tomorrow midnight,” Sauti Sol posted on social media.

No pay, just food, transport and exposure

A leaked e-mail from Sauti Sol telling the applicants that there would be no any other form of payment caused a stir on social media.

The email explains that the models stand to benefit from exposure. Sauti Sol tells the applicants that they will only provide food and transport during the shoot.

Video shoot cancelled

Sauti Sol was forced to cancel the video shoot after the email leaked online. The leaked email sparked a backlash from Sauti Sol’s fans forcing them to apologize.

“We have been made aware of an email going around asking models to appear in a Sauti Sol dance video production for no compensation. The production email address it was sent from is often used by 3rd party contractors and in this case they clearly got it all wrong. We believe in fair compensation for all work in the entertainment industry and do not condone the “exposure” speak. We believe our track record speaks for itself. Needless to say, we have terminated our contract with the production company involved and apologize for this misunderstanding,” Sauti Sol addressed the leaked email.

Sauti Sol, Catherine Kamau among Kenyan celebs who have joined calls to end Libya’s slave trade of Africans

Black people are being sold off in slave markets in Libya and the international community is not treating the issue with the seriousness it deserves.

The modern-day slavery in Libya has been fueled by instability in the north African country. Refugees and migrants use Libya as a conduit for reaching Europe.

Militias in Libya have taken advantage of the situation to make money. Most refugees and migrants from West Africa have been arrested and sold off in slave markets in Libya.

West African men are being auctioned off as slaves in various towns in Libya. A CNN footage recently showed the sale of a dozen men in a courtyard outside the country’s capital, Tripoli.

Celebrities react

Several global celebrities have spoken against the modern-day slavery in Libya. Celebs are using their influence to implore governments to take action.

Kenyan celebrities have also joined calls to end slavery in Libya. The likes of Sauti Sol, Kobi Kihara, Sleepy David etc have all raised their voices against what’s happening in Libya.

Kobi Kihara: I’ve tried to IGNORE this story hoping it was not true or it will go away because someone did something fast and it ended, well it’s not going away, it’s not over by a long shot and it’s absolutely ridiculous that the wheels are turning so slowly despite United Nations chief Antonio Guterres saying he was “horrified” & African Union chief Alpha Conde saying it’s an “outrage” and reports coming out that everybody knew and did nothing. I’m so upset! Sign the petition at change.org and make sure everybody especially Fayez al-Serraj hears your voice~ Link in bio???? #Slavery2017 #FULibya #StopTheNonsense #KobiWithAnEye

Mishi Dorah: Wickedness is understatement…Say no to slavery… God!!! This is barbaric….. let’s all condemn slavery in Lybia and any other part of the world… let’s be our brothers keeper… I’m in tears ?? #dorahtheafricanexplorah

Sleepy David: Libya ? it shall be well in Jesus Name #AfricaRiseUp #Pray #speakupforthevoiceless #notoslavery #repost

Catherine Kamau: ?? we have to make noise about this, something must be done, dear lord keep our brothers in Libya safe, deliver them. ??

Sauti Sol: If you’re reading this, join us in saying enough is enough! #endslavetradeinlibya

“Is this what has become of humanity?” Sauti Sol mourn 7-year-old kid shot dead by police in Pipeline estate

Police are on the spot again for killing an innocent child in Pipeline area in Embakasi. Geoffrey Mutinda was shot dead by police while he was playing at the balcony.

Geoffrey’s father Peter Mutuku says police were sporadically firing bullets in Pipeline on Tuesday November 28th. Mutuku’s son was hit by a stray bullet while he was playing on the first floor balcony of his father’s apartment.

The kid’s death happened when police were engaging Nasa supporters in ruling battles in Embakasi. Police were trying to block Nasa supporters from attending a rally at Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi East.

A pregnant woman was also shot in the leg in Pipeline estate. The woman was on the same balcony where Geoffrey Mutinda was killed.

The killing of Geoffrey sparked protests from residents in Pipeline. The 7-year-old kid was a class two pupil at Remedy Academy in Mwala, Machakos County. Geoffrey was only in Nairobi for the Christmas holiday.

Is this what has become of humanity?

Sauti Sol mourned the death of Geoffrey Mutinda. The music group is however horrified by what has become of the police in Kenya.

It’s not the first police are on the spot for killings kids. In August police killed six-month-old baby Samantha Pendo by hitting her on the head with a baton.

Same August police killed 8-year-old Stephanie Moraa in Mathare. Stephanie was also shot dead at the balcony of her parents’ house in Mathare slums.

“Geoffrey Mutinda was only 7 years old. ? Is this what has become of humanity? #RIP” wrote Sauti Sol

Sauti Sol taunts Ezekiel Mutua as ‘Melanin’ garners 1 million views in just 5 days

Ezekiel Mutua’s ban on Sauti Sol has turned out to be more of a blessing than a curse. The song has been trending first on YouTube ever since the moral police termed it as outright pornographic.

KFCB boss Ezekiel Mutua slapped Sauti Sol with watershed period ban on Thursday November 23rd. ‘Melanin’ will not be played on TV during the watershed period which runs from 5am to 10pm.

The moral cop says Sauti Sol is full of nudity and also objectifies women under the guise of black beauty. KFCB wrote to Sauti Sol to submit the video for examination and classification for age suitability.

1 million views in just 5 days

Ezekiel Mutua doesn’t know that when a song is banned it even becomes more viral. This is what happened to ‘Melanin’ as it is currently the hottest song on YouTube.

Sauti Sol taunted Mutua when ‘Melanin’ hit 1 million views in just 5 days. The quartet shared a screenshot of the views and thanked everyone for their support.

“As we performed #MELANIN last night at the #KorogaFestivalXX it hit 1,000,000 views in just 5 days and still trending #1 ? Thank you for the love everyone ?? #AfrikanSauce ? #LP #collabo @patorankingfire,” wrote Sauti Sol.

Ezekiel Mutua warns TV stations of dire consequences if they play Sauti Sol’s ‘Melanin’

Ezekiel Mutua has finally slapped Sauti Sol with watershed period ban. The Kenya Film and Classification Board warns TV stations of dire consequences if they dare play ‘Melanin’ during the watershed period.

‘Melanin’ will not be played on TV during the watershed period which runs from 5am to 10pm. Ezekiel Mutua clarifies in a statement to the public that he hasn’t banned the song to its entirety.

Mutua says Sauti Sol’s song can’t be played during the watershed period due to undesirable elements like nudity and objectification of women under the guise of black beauty.

The statement says Sauti Sol released their video without complying with Film and Stage Act, Cap 222. Mutua says KFCB board has written to Sauti Sol to submit the video for examination and classification for age suitability.

Broadcasters be warned

The moral cop warns TV stations of dire consequences. Mutua says KFCB won’t hesitate to take action against any broadcaster who plays ‘Melanin’ during watershed period.

“The Board will not hesitate to take action against any broadcaster or exhibitor who shows the video during the watershed period and/or in establishments where children are at risk of viewing it,” Ezekiel Mutua tweeted.

Mutua further says that Sauti Sol should be in the forefront in following the law. He states that the group ought to have warned consumers of their content.

“A band of Sauti Sol’s stature should be in the forefront in following the law and even warning consumers of their content that the video should not be accessed by children as it explores an adult theme. It is unfortunate that a reputable band like Sauti Sol would resort to sideshows in this important matter rather than complying with the law in their operations.”

Why Sauti Sol’s #Melanin should become a national ‘anthem’ already!

Sauti Sol may have released an explicit video for their new song Melanin, but this should not be an issue. Melanin is a perfect song that appreciates dark skinned women in our African society.

As much as there are those criticizing the song, we should focus on the positive message it sends out to our ladies. For years now, many have made it look like dark skinned women are not beautiful. However, this is not true and wrong on all levels!

Dark Skinned women are stunning beauties and they should be told this everyday of their lives. In this case Sauti Sol and Patoranking managed to put it in a song that attracted 10,000 views in 12 hours.

Having the boys preach the beauty found in Melanin, women not only in Kenya but around the world should embrace there dark skins.

Bleaching on the rise!

Ladies living in our generations have ruined their natural beauty by altering their skin tones with creams and pills. This is why I think Sauti Sol’s melanin dropped at the perfect time. It will educate the narrow minded who assume black has no beauty!

As for now I am positive that the exaggerated ‘light skin is beauty’ mentality will die soon – thanks to the dark skinned video vixens featured on most videos.

Kudos Sauti Sol for the saucy Melanin!

Bien: Ezekiel Mutua is not the target audience, sisi hatumuogopi

Moral police Ezekiel Mutua has vowed to ban Sauti Sol’s new song. The group however has no regret about dropping a lewd music video.

Kenya Film Classification Board CEO termed ‘Melanin’ as an absolutely pornography video. Mutua expressed his deep disappointment with Sauti Sol for dropping the offensive song.

He’s not the target audience

Sauti Sol knew they would clash with Ezekiel Mutua even before they dropped ‘Melanin’. The quartet confirmed this while speaking on Hot 96 a day before they released their controversial song.

Jalango asked the group if they thought their video would be played on TV. He told them that the photos they were posting on social media were not Ezekiel Mutua friendly.

“The photos that you people have been posting are not Ezekiel Mutua friendly. So you think it (‘Melanin’) might not be played in our local TVs?” Jalango asked.

Bien-Aimé Baraza replied and told Jalas not to be scared. He says Ezekiel Mutua is not their target audience and assured him ‘Melanin’ would piss him off.

“Even the video is not Ezekiel Mutua friendly. I mean he’s not the target audience. We are pushing the boundary, we are entertaining. We are entertainers that’s what we do you know. Wee (Jalango) usiogope. Unatujua sisi Sauti Sol ni watu wa vitu kali sisi,” said Bien.

“It’s full of nudity and obscenity” Ezekiel Mutua vows to ban Sauti Sol’s new song ‘Melanin’

It’s déjà vu moment for Sauti Sol after they dropped ‘Melanin’ featuring Patoranking. Only three years ago the quartet’s video was banned over erotic scenes.

Sauti Sol’s ‘Nishike’ sparked uproar when the video was dropped in April 2014. The song was banned in local TV stations owing to its explicit nature.

No lesson learnt

Sauti Sol dropped ‘Melanin’ on November 20th 2017 and it’s generating the same response as ‘Nishike’. The song is great yes but the video has rubbed some people the wrong way.

‘Melanin’ has already attracted the attention of moral police Ezekiel Mutua. The Kenya Film Classification Board CEO has vowed to ban Sauti Sol’s new song.

It’s absolutely pornography

Ezekiel Mutua termed ‘Melanin’ as offensive by accepted standards of morality and decency. Mutua expresses his deep disappointment with Sauti Sol while speaking to Citizen Digital.

“I have watched the video, the scenes are inappropriate and it’s full of nudity, obscenity and it should be saved for watershed period, Sauti Sol is taking the wrong direction, defying the norms and expectations of the society, they don’t know that they can still be famous without being obscene. The elements that we look at are the frequency, intensity, nudity and obscenity and Sauti sol’s is adult rated,” Ezekiel Mutua said.

Watch ‘Melanin’ in the video below:

Ladies expose too much skin in Sauti Sol’s new song ‘Melanin’ featuring Patoranking

Sauti Sol decided to praise dark skin chicks in their new song. The singing quartet used four video vixens who exposed too much skin in their new song.

The darker the berry the sweeter the juice… Sauti Sol featured Nigerian singer Patoranking to drop a song ‘Melanin’ in praise of real dark skin chick.

The video vixens exposed too much skin while flaunting their melanin. The girls were seen topless with only panties on in some scenes in the video.

Another hit

‘Melanin’ is definitely going to be another big hit judging from how people have received it. The quartet got it right featuring Patoranking.

Fashion killa: Sauti Sol’s Savara looking hotter than ever in retro outfits, this is how he rocked his belly-bottom

What is a Thursday if it’s not #throwbackthursday? It’s clearly not a Thursday worth experiencing.

Savara Mudigi seems to be bringing back old skool fashion and boy does he look fine. The singer who is part of Sauti Sol is seen dressed in what looks like a belly bottom which he paired with a retro shirt.

The singer’s latest photos suggest that Vintage clothes are growing in desirability. Celebrities like him who aren’t afraid to show off their unique style are always the first to flaunt their vintage finds.

However, not many are capable of pulling this look but Savara seems to have a way of making it natural. Clearly he should be wearing more vintage because it makes him stand out from others – something he should pride in.

Collo throws his weight behind Sauti Sol in controversial post calling Kenyans fools

Sauti Sol rubbed Kenyans the wrong way with a controversial post on social media. Gospel rapper Collo has since supported Sauti Sol in their assertion.

Sauti Sol sensationally claimed ‘Tibim’, ‘Tialala’ and ‘Tano Tena’ were empty political slogans. The quartet further stated that most Kenyans were uneducated fools who kissed politicians’ asses.

Their sentiments irked majority of Kenyans on social media. Both Nasa and Jubilee supporters and even homophobes joined forces in trolling Sauti Sol.

Collo defends Sauti Sol

Gospel rapper Collo has however supported Sauti Sol’s statement. The ‘Bazokizo’ hit maker stated that Kenyans don’t like anyone of their own sharing the truth. The rapper further stated that Sauti Sol ought to have finished their statement by saying Jesus is the way.

“The Entertainment Mountain & creative industry should Ideally be funding politicians like in the U.S.A including other civilized nations. Here in Kenya the Government mountain has been used by some individuals to oppress all the other mountains hence we hear the weird but commom phrase “tunaomba serekali”… what happened to TUNAOMBA MUNGU??? Do some research about the spheres of influence and you’ll agree with me when I say, I understand where @sautisol are coming from & concerned with how Kenyans don’t like anyone of their own sharing the truth. Infact, ingefaa wamalize kwa kusema FOM NI YESU!” Wrote Collo.

“I wouldn’t agree with King Kaka sentiments” Wyre weighs in on Sauti Sol’s beef with King Kaka

King Kaka and Sauti Sol have been throwing words at each other since early September when the rapper first took a swipe at the quartet and other top musicians.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Maisha to promote his new song ‘Run Ting’ with Fena Gitu, King Kaka sensationally claimed the likes of Nameless, Redsan and Sauti Sol hadn’t done enough to push for the growth of Kenya’s music industry.

King Kaka

Sauti Sol and King Kaka have seen been embroiled in a beef while Redsan and Nameless chose to ignore the attention seeking rapper.

Wyre has now put in his two cents on King Kaka’s beef with Sauti Sol. The veteran dancehall singer openly disagreed with King Kaka explaining that it was an individual choice for veteran artistes to support budding musicians.

Sauti Sol

“I wouldn’t agree with King Kaka sentiments. A veteran artiste helping other artistes is an individual choice to make. If one feels he or she is in a position to help then its cool and if an individual feels not to, then there is no problem with that. This is because its a very very expensive venture, it needs a lot of money and requires time and patients. You have to pay for their videos, audios, song writing and stuffs that comes with that line. And where does all that money come from? Its even harder when yourself you are an artiste because you also need to invest in your work as well as those under you,” said Wyre.

Sauti Sol throw their weight behind Nyashinski as he faces off with Wizkid and Davido for MTV EMA award

Nyashinski is the second Kenyan artist after Sauti Sol to be nominated for MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA). The flourishing singer has been nominated in the same category – Best African Act which Sauti Sol won in 2014.

For starters, the 2017 MTV EMAs will be held at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, UK, on 12th November 2017. The host of this ceremony will be British superstar Rita Ora.

Nyashinski is facing stiff competition from Nigeria’s Wizkid and Davido, South Africa’s Babes Wodumo and Nasty C and Angola’s C4 Pedro, who have all been nominated for the same prize.

Sauti Sol has since started ‘campaigning’ for Nyashinski. The quartet  marshalled their fans on social media to vote for the ‘Malaika’ hit maker in a bid to make him became to second Kenyan artiste to win the coveted award.

“Massive S/O to the real King ?. You are one of the most naturally gifted and hardworking artists from the continent. Your humility and work ethic is something that we can all emulate. Congratulations on your MTV EMA #BestAfricanAct. When we were nominated, you guys helped us win it. It’s Nyashinski’s turn now. Let’s bring it home. He is the only East African representative this year. Voting is now open, log on to http://www.mtvema.com/en-africa/vote#best-african-act and VOTE as many times as you can. ???” Wrote Sauti Sol.

“We’re the 1st Kenyan musicians to reach a million legit followers on Instagram” claims Sauti Sol

Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol has now managed to join the list of celebrities with 1 million views on Instagram and of course they would not let this go unnoticed.

To announce the good news, they wrote a short message through their twitter handle where they said;

Sauti Sol’s post

#Goodmorning Apparently we’re the first Kenyan musicians to reach a million legit folk on @Instagram. Damn it’s hard outchea. ????????

unlike the likes of Avril Nyambura and many others – Sauti Sol page still remains unverified but hopefully this will happen pretty soon since they are not only big in Kenya but in Africa and other parts of the world.

However, what caught my attention is that they claim that their 1 million followers are legit which has left me wondering whether the likes of Khaligraph Jones who have 200k followers
and are still verified have ghost followers or were the boys throwing shade?

Anyway, as for now they are in Germany where they held a lit show this past weekend for their fans.

After Davido, Sauti Sol planning to work with Wizkid?

Our close sources inform us that Sauti Sol and Davidi have an amazing project set to be released before the end of the year. Though we did not get more details about the song, we are sure that it will be one of the greatest projects we have seen this year from the boys.

There song with C4 Pedro is not only taking over the airwaves in East Africa but in Africa as a whole. Their latest hit song #friendzone is also proving to be an anthem among fans who cannot help but sing along to each and every lyric in the song.

https://instagram.com/p/BW6QF5uFn_B/

Away from that, we understand that the boys (Sauti Sol) had an opportunity to hangout with Wizkid during his recent trip to Kenya. We are not quite sure whether they are up to a new project but we so since they were with Cedo.

Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime reveals how he lost 15 teeth in one day, now this is interesting!

Having started from the bottom, Sauti Sol has undeniably worked too hard to be where they are today.

They were just normal boys from the hood but never did they imagine that one day, they would be the best boy band in Africa.

Each one of them has a different story to tell but we all know that they share the same dream – and this is to be grate and inspire the youth.

Away from that, Bien Aime recently opened up about his phobia of crossing the road that was caused after being hit by a car a few years ago.

Bien
Bien

Talking to one popular news outlet (Plive) the singer said this happened along Railways as he was crossing the road – but unfortunately run into a drank driver who hit him causing the singer to lose 15 teeth since the impact made him land on the windscreen…he said,

“Nishaigongwa na gari na nikapoteza meno 15, Niligongwa na gari hapo railways na mtu amelewa tu iyo barabara ya Kenyan Cinema kama unaenda Railways. Huyo mtu alikuja wrong side akanipiga kwa magoti puf! Sura ikagonga windscreen.”

However, looking at him now one cannot tell that the singer lost his teeth which were later replaced.

Bien finally responds to Snoop Dogg’s plaudits

Legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg surprised many people when he went into raptures about about Sauti Sol’s song ‘Kuliko Jana’.

Last May Snoop Dogg was touched by Sauti Sol’s hit song and decided to share a clip of the quartet singing ‘Kuliko Jana’ alongside Redfourth Chorus.

Bien finally responded to Snoop Dogg’s plaudits during an interview on with Mzazi Willy Tuva on Citizen Radio’s Mambo Mseto on Monday.

Bien revealed that he was surprised when Snoop Dogg shared the video because they (Sauti) were concentrating on a new project only to learn their hit song had smitten the American rapper.

Sauti Sol with Mzazi Willy Tuva at Citizen Radio studio

“Ni baraka sana tu halafu inaonyesha wakati mwingine kama msanii unakuwa haufikiri juu ya song, ni kama hiyo song ilishapita unataka usonge mbele na vitu vingine lakini Mungu anakubariki kwa ile kazi umekuwa ukiifanya, hivyo kazi inaendelea kujiendeleza. So mazee tunasema asante pia kwa mashabiki wetu kwa kutuweka hizo level mpaka Snoop anatupata,” Bien said.

The friendzone anthem! Sauti Sol drops yet another interesting jam

Multi-award winning Afro-pop group Sauti Sol, release a hot new single & full EMOJI (lyric) video FRIENDZONE, written and produced by Sauti Sol.The release is accompanied by a WhatsApp themed, conversation like, Emoji-only (lyric) video.

“Emoji texts are the new ‘means’ of communication and more specifically emotions like laughter, lust and love. We wanted to have fun with this concept seeing as the track we had needed visuals which best highlight these emotions as people nowadays communicate them. So we thought it was best to come up with such a video.” said Sauti Sol’s guitarist/producer, Polycarp.

We all know that nobody (especially men ?) like to be friend zoned ? and Sauti Sol makes that very clear in this song and video. Once in such a situation you will look for ways to maneuver ?your way out. Thus this song has a theme that every man can relate to and every lady can give testimony to?.

“I haven’t heard of Dela before Coke Studio” Bebe Cool blasts Kenyan musicians for being lazy

Veteran Ugandan reggae/ragga artiste Bebe Cool has shared his honest opinion about Kenyan artistes, he thinks musicians from the 254 are generally lazy.

Bebe Cool, who is in Kenya for Coke Studio, has been interviewed by a number of local news outlets during his stint in the country.

It was during his interview with The Insyder that the Ugandan singer raised eyebrows, he claimed Sauti Sol were the only musicians from Kenya who have clout outside the country’s border. The Ugandan collaborated with Sauti Sol to drop ‘Mbozi Za Malwa’.

“To tell the truth there is Sauti Sol. I would definitely tell you I don’t think I can rate anybody else coz basically apart from the old legendary it’s only Sauti Sol that made sure they made a name in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Africa,” Bebe Cool said.

And to support his claim, Bebe Cool cited the case of Dela whom he said he didn’t know she existed until he met her at Coke Studio.

“I just met Dela recently and I haven’t even listened to her music so that means Kenyan artistes are a little bit lazy. I usually say that and I’m never shy about it because I haven’t heard of Dela before Coke Studio. If Dela has management she has to think twice and move to international platform because that is how I will know you,” added Bebe Cool.

Lit photos from Savara Mudigi’s project aiming to empower women and mothers from Eastlands

Sauti Sol’s Savara Mudigi this past weekend launched the #SaWA project, an initiative created to inspire and empower women to reach their full potential, using their own resources like time, skills and talent.

This saw his team hold a football tournament for both women and men on Saturday attracting many to be part of his projects. On Sunday he however ensured to hold an event which was attended by his band members, Nyashinski, Nameless, Le_band, Bon Eye, Naiboi among other artists who have grew up in Eastlands.

Savara performing with his mother

From the photos it is easy to tell that Savara’s efforts and hard work paid well as fans turned out in huge numbers to support one of their own. His parents were also present and his mother got to perform kuliko Jana as she also congratulated her son for stepping up to help women…something that has not been seen in a while.
