“Our duty as preachers is to reach people wherever they are, including platforms like TikTok and Facebook, but we must not lose our integrity. A shepherd should not ‘smell like sheep’ to the extent that they can’t minister effectively,” Burale stated.
He criticized pastors who use TikTok to seduce women instead of spreading the gospel. “It’s completely wrong to use the platform to seduce women and tell them to touch their bodies. We are called to reach everyone, including young people and those struggling with addictions, with love and respect, just as we were once shown love during our struggles,” he added.

Burale stressed the importance of maintaining a higher standard of conduct, especially when attempting to help others. “You can’t help someone struggling with drinking if your own consumption is worse. Some might not like this, but it’s crucial to stay firm in our mission. Use TikTok, but don’t lose sight of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” he urged.
Milimo questioned if the purpose of preaching on TikTok should remain consistent. Burale responded, “The purpose should never change. For example, during this interview, you wouldn’t suggest we take a drink before continuing. Your purpose remains clear. On TikTok, you must stay true to your mission and not lose focus to the extent that others feel sorry for you and pray for your salvation. Stay true to your assignment.”
Burale also acknowledged his own use of TikTok to preach to young people, noting that he has never compromised his purpose on the platform. “As a preacher, I’ve used TikTok and even danced, but I’ve never lost sight of my mission. I would never ask women to touch themselves inappropriately. We are living in the last days,” he concluded.
