King Kaka’s new collabo with Xenia Manasseh titled ‘Dear Stranger’ is totally dope (Video)

Celebrated Kenyan rapper Kennedy Ombima, popularly known as King Kaka, has released a new song with Xenia Manasseh and it’s totally worth your time.

The song dubbed Dear Stranger, which is off his mixtape titled The Servant & The King, is about people that he was really close with at one point in time but they had to part ways for one reason or the other. Hence, they became strangers, sort of.

In the song, the Run Ting hitmaker mentions the likes of; Femi One, Arrow Bwoy, Avril, Rich Mavoko, Timmy Tdat, Pascal Tokodi, Phy and goes on to reveal how they influenced his life and vice versa.

His message to these people – who he helped rise in the local music industry – is that he’ll always be there for them and will help them realize their dreams, even if they disagreed at some point.

I love this jam. Apart from the fact that it’s well-arranged, it made realized that King King has sacrificed so much for many artists, were it not for him you would have probably never heard about some of the aforementioned musicians.

I don’t know about you but this song too me back to the Kaka Sungura that I used to listen to 10 years (or so ago) and the truth is that I had missed this version of him.

Notably, Xenia Manasseh also came through on this jam. She spiced it up with her mellow voice and believe you me, even if you don’t like King Kaka, the former will make you love this song.

I also love the instrumentation on this song. The tempo just blends well with both King Kaka and Xenia’s voices and it will get you hooked from the moment you hit the play button.

The video is also dope. The really utilized the location i.e. Lord Egerton Castle. Notably, the scene transitioning was also on point. Props to the videographer – CJ.

Former WCB member Rich Mavoko has finally opened up about the alleged beef he has with Diamond Platnumz.

The singer who is currently flying high with his music and new name Billionaire Kid revealed that their is no bad blood between him and his former boss.

Speaking during an interview recently, Mavoko opened up saying he is okay with how things worked out between him and his former record label; however he cannot say the same for WCB’s boss since he cannot speak on his behalf;

Why he left WCB

Till now some people still don’t know why Rich Mavoko left WCB but thanks to his recent interview, the Bongo singer went on to say;

Singer Rich Mavoko who currently flying high with his new song Usizuge seems to be doing much better than when he was signed under Wasafi records.

The artist has now managed to get back his touch in music something most of his fans claim he had lost. However during a recent interview he got the opportunity to reveal why he was not dropping new music.

Apparently the Wasafi management had been pushing down his projects despite spending sleepless nights in the studio. Mavoko says he tried having his songs released but his former management kept hitting him back with excuses and at some point his mother had to step in to intervene.

No future

According to Rich Mavoko this left him feeling that he had no future in the music industry; and for this reason he decided to leave.

However unlike what many think, Rich Mavoko says he has no bad blood with the Wasafi team.

However, he further adds that the minute he saw that Wasafi was in it, he knew it was all a big lie cooking in the kitchen.

It is no lie that Diamond Platinumz´ WCB is the finest record label across East and Central Africa with seamless and well choreographed music videos but artists go home empty.

The WCB King has seen artistes attend numerous music tours and concerts across Africa.

However, the record label has been on the wrong side of the light after their former signee, Rich Mavoko excited the record label over underpay allegations.

Mavoko alleged that he has been ¨mistreated¨ at the label and sought to leave.

However, ever since his exit from WCB, his music and name have not hit their peak and is still struggling to reinstate his name.

Apparently, Diamond Platnumz boasts being the ¨Best Boss¨but fans are not taking that.

Rich Mavoko who is among the top bongo artists might be planning to take his own life.

This is after sharing a suspicious post on Instagram leaving many wondering what he was up to.

Apparently his life has not been the same after quitting the WCB records;where he had initially been signed by Diamond Platnumz.

Failed music career?

Looking at some of the comments left under his post, fans suggested that his career was being buried by Wasafi records; and this could be the reason he feels like taking his life.

After choosing to fly Solo for months now, Mavoko has managed to drop a few projects but unluckily have not been doing so well.

Anyway as for now all we can do is wait and see what happens.. But hopefully those close to him reach out to see what his post really meant.

Bongo singer Rich Mavoko quit Wasafi after he sensationally claimed that WCB was fleecing him through the contract he signed with them.

Mavoko sought the help of music regulatory body BASATA to quit WCB in order to stop the record label from suing him for breach of contract.

Mavoko has released four songs; ‘Ndegele’, ‘Hongera’, ‘Naogopa’ and ‘Navumilia’ since his departure from Wasafi. He however revealed that he could still work with WCB if a chance presents itself.

“Sina tatizo kabisa, tutakaa chini na kuzungumza si ni biashara tu?” said Rich Mavoko in an interview with Global Publishers.

The singer further asserts that there is no bad blood between Wasafi and him, this despite his dramatic exit from Diamond Platnumz’s record label.

“Unajua watu wanashindwa kuelewa, sikuondoka kwa ugomvi kule hata kidogo ni mambo tu ya kawaida ya kimuziki lakini sina tatizo na yeyote yule,” Mavoko said.

Diamond and his managers Babu Tale, Sallam SK Mendez and Mkubwa Fella showed up at BASATA office on Tuesday August 14th after being summoned.

After the meeting with Diamond and his managers, BASATA scheduled a joint meeting between the two warring parties – Wasafi and Rich Mavoko at a later date.

On Thursday August 23rd Diamond and his manager Sallam SK met face-to-face with Rich Mavoko for the first time since he quit Wasafi record.

Both sides – Diamond and Rich Mavoko declined to divulge details about the meeting which was held behind closed door at BASATA office.

The ‘Ibaki Story’ hit maker sought the help of BASATA after he sensationally claimed that WCB was fleecing him through the contract he signed with them.

Singer Diamond Platnumz has met his former employee Rich Mavoko for the first time since Mavoko launched a nasty legal fight against his label and won.

The two men who have been topping headlines after their fall out met face to face at the National Arts Council, Tanzania (BASATA) on Thursday after Mavoko launched a complaint against WCB claiming that his contract had a problem.

Mavoko managed to break free from his contract with Wasafi records after winning the case against WCB he had submitted before BASATA.

BASATA then came out to share that it will intervene the situation and try to calm the two parties down.

Rich Mavoko signed a contract with WCB in June 2016. The singer was previously signed by Kenyan record label Kaka Empire.

Diamond’s manager Sallam SK Mendez , speaking during an interview on The Playlist on Times FM, said Rich Mavoko was not honest in claiming that WCB was exploiting him.

“Mpaka sasa sielewi malalamiko ya Mavoko ni yapi kwa sababu ukisema sisi tunamnyonya mtu hicho kitu hakiwezekani alafu isitoshe pesa ambayo tumewekeza kwa Rich Mavoko haijarudi hata robo,” said Sallam SK Mendez.

Bongo songbird Lulu Abbas ‘Lulu Diva’ has set the record straight about her relationship with Rich Mavoko following his dramatic exit from Wasafi Record.

Mavoko quit WCB after seeking the help of Tanzania’s music and art regulatory body BATASA. He accused Wasafi of exploiting him.

Speaking during an interview with Showbiz Xtra, Lulu Diva said Rich Mavoko’s exit from Wasafi TV will not affect their relationship.

It’s not clear why Wasafi Record was hesitant to let Rich Mavoko go, apparently WCB is yet to get its return on investment.

Mavoko had to seek the help of Tanzania’s music and arts regulatory body BASATA to quit. It turns out WCB is yet to get its investment back since Mavoko signed a contract with Wasafi in June 2016.

Wasafi’s top honcho who also serves as Diamond Platnmuz’s manager – Sallam SK Mendez shed light on the label’s bone of contention with Rich Mavoko.

Mendez reveals that WCB was the one losing since the label had not even recovered the money that they invested in Rich Mavoko.

WCB’s Mbosso has rubbished Rich Mavoko’s claim that Wasafi is fleecing artists. Speaking during a radio interview, Mbosso says on his part he feels he’s the one fleecing WCB because what the record label has invested in him is more compared to the returns they are currently getting.

“Kiukweli kwa upande wangu tangu naingia WCB mpaka leo sijafikisha pesa ambayo wao wali invest kwangu kwaiyo nikiambiwa nanyonywa binafsi nitapinga kwa sababu mimi ndio naona nawanyonya kwa sababu mpaka leo hela waliyowekeza kwangu haijarusi na kuna wasanii wapo WCB mpaka leo pia hawajarudiasha hata nusu ya pesa kwaiyo ukiniambia WCB wananyonya wasanii nakuwa sikuamini labda uje na vigezo,” said Mbosso.

Wasafi Record recently spent about Kes 5.4 million to buy Mbosso and Lavalava brand new Toyota Harriers.

A technicality in Rich Mavoko’s contract with Wasafi Records had temporarily stopped him from quitting the record label despite expressing interest to leave.

Rich Mavoko signed a contract with WCB in June 2016, the singer was previously signed by Kenyan record label Kaka Empire.

The uncertainty surrounding Mavoko’s contract with WCB has now been settled. The singer is now free to leave Diamond’s record label.

BASATA intervenes

Tanzanian news outlet Global Publishers reports that music board BASATA on 9th August okayed Mavoko’s request to quit Wasafi records.

It’s not clear what caused Mavoko to decided to quit WCB, Wasafi’s management has refused to divulge details about Mavoko’s exit. Babu Tale said the label would talk about Mavoko when the right time comes.

However while speaking with Kwanza TV in July, Mavoko said Diamond was constantly on his case nagging him to release several songs without taking a break.

Rich Mavoko is said to have parted ways with Diamond’s Wasafi Records just after two years. The Bongo singer was previously signed to Kenyan label Kaka Empire before he moved to WCB.

Speculations about Mavoko’s exit started when hawk-eyed netizens noticed that the singer had edited his Instagram account to read ‘Musician from East Africa,’ from what it once read ‘baddest Musician from East Africa, Tanzania signed under WCB.’

Wasafi’s top honcho Babu Tale has since addressed claims that Rich Mavoko had dumped WCB. Speaking during an interview with Wasafi TV, Tale said that it was not yet time to talk about Mavoko’s alleged exit.

He said that both Wasafi and Mavoko will talk about the issue at later date. Or perhaps the whole issue is just another publicity stunt?

Pole Bro! Rich Mavoko hints why Diamond likes Harmonize more than him

Singer Rich Mavoko has come out to hint that singer Diamond Platnumz has always had a soft spot for fellow singer and employee Harmonize.

Diamond, the owner of Wasafi Records, has signed both Harmonize and Mavoko but Mavoko has always felt that Harmonize get’s most attention from the boss. It’s might be a major reason why the singer is rumored to have ditched the label recently.

Mavoko in a radio interview, however, shared:

“TANGU NIANZE KUWA WCB SIJAWAHI KUFIKIRIA KUWA KUNA MTU ANAPENDELEA. KILA KITU NI JITIHADA ZAKE,” he said.

Remember Mavoko, who was signed to Kaka Empire before, had an almost similar argument before leaving. That aside, it’s true Diamond loves Harmonize like his true dad and has been crossing rivers to see him become a successful artist. So at the end of the day, it might be just business.

After a rather awkward relationship between Diamond Platnumz and his record label Wasafi Records, singer Rich Mavoko seems to have called it quits.

The singer, who was signed at the record label and hoped to increase his reach through out Africa, ended up releasing only three song under the label while other members kept on churning hits after hits.

A quick look at Instagram accounts of all Wasafi signees such as Harmonize and Rayvanny, you’ll see their profile still has the tag identifying them as Daimond signees unlike Mavoko’s.

He has not released an official statement yet and neither has Diamond.

Wasafi artists can’t drop new album, at least not this year. Rich Mavoko says their boss Diamond Platnumz has blocked them from releasing new album.

Rich Mavoko signed to Diamond’s Wasafi Record in May 2016. The Tanzanian singer was previously signed to King Kaka’s Kaka Empire record which is located in Nairobi.

Mavoko was praised for moving to Wasafi where his music career blossomed. He has dropped several new hit songs and also collaborated with international artists most recently being Patoranking.

Apparently Diamond has blocked Wasafi artists from releasing new albums. Mavoko says he had plans to drop a new album but he shelved his plan because Diamond had announced earlier he was releasing his album.

Speaking on Magic FM’s Daladala Beat show, Rich Mavoko reveals that other Wasafi artists have also stopped their plans to release new albums. Diamond is set to release his new album ‘A Boy From Tandale’ soon.
