Salasya Shares His Unconventional Views on Wealth

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has shared his unique perspective on money, likening it to flowers in his life. The first-term legislator, while discussing his upcoming football tournament, acknowledged the challenges involved in organizing such an event and sought divine assistance to ensure its success.

Salasya highlighted the tradition among Kenyan politicians to host football tournaments during school holidays as a way to engage the youth, discourage delinquent behavior, and foster voter support. However, he admitted that pulling off a successful tournament requires significant financial resources.

“Hosting a successful tournament is no easy task. God, I pray for Your help. The budget is high, but who is God? He will make it happen. To me, money is like flowers,” Salasya wrote on Instagram. The PK Salasya Classic Cup kicked off on December 1 and will conclude on January 1.

Reflecting on his journey, Salasya, 35, recounted his humble beginnings and financial struggles before his 2022 electoral win. He recalled times when raising bus fare to travel from his village to Nairobi was a challenge, often bargaining to lower the cost from Sh. 800 to Sh. 650 to save money for essentials.

“I never imagined that one day I’d board an airplane as casually as a public service vehicle,” he said, marveling at how far he has come from his days of traveling on buses like Basi la Matunda or Eldoret Express. Salasya’s reflections serve as a testament to his perseverance and faith in overcoming adversity.

Peter Salasya Seeks Advice on Dealing with Blackmail from Women After Shared Moments

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya is seeking advice on handling blackmail involving compromising photos and videos from women. In an Instagram post on October 27, 2024, Salasya expressed frustration over an increasing trend where women secretly record intimate moments and later use these as leverage for money.

Salasya explained that these women often send “view once” messages on WhatsApp, showing men in compromising situations, then demand large sums—up to Ksh300,000—to avoid making the images public. He questioned the best way to address this type of blackmail.

“These girls take photos and videos while you’re asleep, then send them as ‘view once’ on WhatsApp, asking for 300k to avoid releasing them. How should one handle this?” he asked.

Salasya has frequently made headlines with his search for a life partner, notably pursuing high-profile figures like Huddah Monroe, with whom he had a social media exchange after she declined his interest. He also once showed admiration for content creator Azziad Nasenya, who politely turned him down. Although some women have shown interest, he has yet to find someone who shares his values.

Recently, he shed light on his search, explaining his desire for a partner who embraces both ambition and a traditional lifestyle. He finds that many women in Nairobi prefer city living, while he seeks someone open to rural life. Friends have suggested he date a teacher or banker, given their busy lives.

“The issue of finding a wife—girls need to understand that the Bible speaks of submission as key. It’s Biblical, it’s spiritual; women should be submissive,” Salasya noted.

Adding to his perspective, he said, “Many girls today want to stay in Nairobi, but I want someone who can live in the village. Someone even suggested a teacher or banker—someone with a busy schedule who won’t cause stress.”

In another recent revelation, Salasya shared that he would not date a virgin, feeling the responsibility too challenging. He would prefer a partner with prior experience, saying that rural men like himself are better suited for this than city men, whom he views as less resilient.

“The type of woman I wouldn’t want is a virgin. If I realize she’s a virgin, I would let her gain experience elsewhere first. We village men are more capable than the city men in such matters,” Salasya stated.

“Andrew Kibe, first of all, you’re an attention seeker. You mentioned the lady, and I said we broke up, but then you returned to say… I don’t know what that girl is doing,” Salasya began.

He continued, “Secondly, you’re quite petty. You’re a content creator, and I’m a leader in my own right. We’re both single, so we’re in the same boat. Remember, you came to Nairobi long before I did, but now I can put you in your place. I can hire you and pay you a salary because I have my businesses. So there’s no way you can disrespect me.”

Salasya clarified that his previous comments were made in jest and advised Kibe to concentrate on his own content instead of involving him.

He asserted that he can attract women whenever he wants and dismissed Kibe’s opinions as irrelevant.

You are nobody to me, and there’s nowhere you can take me.”

Huddah has since apologized, expressing, “I respect you a lot, Peter Salasya, and I apologize for putting you on blast. See you at the top; be blessed. I have nothing against you. I still have mad respect for you and a lot of love. You are a great man. Take care of yourself. No human is limited.”

Peter Salasya Wants to be the Leader of Gen Zs

Mumias East Member of Parliament, Peter Kalerwa Salasya, is appealing directly to Generation Z. Urging them to endorse him as their voice in Parliament. In a video posted online, MP Salasya pledges to champion their concerns and ensure their issues are addressed at the highest levels.

Kama hakuna Azimio, the opposition called Gen Z should nominate me as their representative in Parliament so that mimi nikue opposition mimi ndio narepresent matakwa ya wananchi wako pale chini, na nitapigana sana nitakua searious mpaka mambo yenu isikizwe,

MP Salasya stated emphatically.

His call comes in response to recent developments where members of his party have aligned with the Kenya Kwanza Government led by President Ruto. A move that has prompted him to seek support from Generation Z to maintain their independence from such political shifts.

Lakini mambo ya Azimio, Mambo ya Azimio ishakufa Azimio ishakufa mimi ndio nawaambia…kwa sababu hata Raila ashaingia kwa Government.

Peter Salasya remarked, emphasizing the changing political landscape in Kenya.

Salasya elaborated that with Kenya’s political dynamics evolving rapidly and Generation Z lacking clear leadership, it is crucial for them to nominate him as their representative. He views this as their best chance to have a dedicated advocate in Parliament who will prioritize their interests.

While commending Generation Z for their activism, Salasya also urged them to act swiftly in supporting his candidacy.

Omtatah Analyzes Salasya’s Controversial Salary Breakdown [VIDEO]

Okiya Omtatah, the Busia Senator and renowned political activist advocating for Kenyan rights, has recently gained widespread attention.

During an interview with Dr. King’ori, Senator Omtatah addressed the controversial salary disclosures made by MP Peter Salasya.

Omtatah clarified that the reason behind Salasya’s reported take-home salary of Ksh 2,364 was primarily due to substantial deductions reflected on his payslip.

These deductions included a staggering Ksh 541,947 for his mortgage, Ksh 85,981 for car loan repayments, and Ksh 54,647 allocated towards staff pension.

These deductions significantly reduced the legislator’s actual earnings, outlining the main reasons behind the comparatively meager amount seen in his salary statement.

Omtatah also highlighted that legislators receive car grants that do not require repayment. However, Salasya opted for an additional car loan, which added to his financial obligations.

The senator criticized some of these financial choices as unnecessary, pointing out that by the end of the repayment period, Salasya would have paid a total of Ksh 25 million, suggesting that this sum could have been used to build a substantial home in his constituency.

Online Activists Share MPs Phone Numbers Online

Netizens across social media platforms have united in a concerted effort, sharing contact details of their respective MPs in a bid to dissuade them from supporting the finance bill scheduled for passage on June 14th, 2024.

Among the shared numbers are those belonging to President Ruto and Mumias East MP, Peter Salasya, who expressed frustration earlier today over the influx of calls and messages from Kenyans who obtained his contact information online.

Salasya took to Instagram to voice his exasperation, stating,

“Who has shared my number on x everybody across the nation is calling my number, texting me, and WhatsApping me. I can’t sleep; the phone is vibrating throughout. They say I reject the finance bill tomorrow and they are sending me one shilling via M-Pesa to confirm if it’s me. We are not voting tomorrow.”

The motive behind this widespread sharing of contact details is to encourage constituents to reach out to their MPs and urge them to oppose the Finance Bill 2024.

Reports indicate that thousands of contacts have been made public on various platforms, exposing not only the President and his deputy but also governors, women representatives, and numerous Members of Parliament.

Prominent figures such as Amerix and others have been actively advocating against the passage of the Finance Bill 2024, fearing its potential to burden the common citizen with excessive taxation, effectively rendering them slaves to government levies.

“Baridi” has Salasya thinking of taking two spouses in a two-year period

“This cold weather is beginning to make me contemplate marrying one wife this year and another next year,” Salasya wrote.

The MP, known for his controversial opinions and online scandals, asserted that he is financially equipped to care for his wives.

“I must marry more than two wives; I have enough resources to provide for them,” the MP concluded.

Here are some reactions from Kenyans to his post:

Salasya pays tribute to Brian Chira and shares the lessons he took away from the late TikToker

Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has expressed his deep admiration for the late TikToker Brian Chira.

Salasya was among the dignitaries present at Brian Chira’s burial held in Githunguri on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. In his address to the mourners, Salasya expressed profound sadness over the loss of the vibrant TikToker, describing him as a significant source of inspiration for the younger generation.

“Chira has been a tremendous inspiration to the youth, and as I look around, there’s not a single politician present. The influence my brother had on the younger generation is unbelievable. I can’t believe my eyes seeing the turnout of the youth here today,” Salasya remarked.

Salasya revealed that he was a keen follower of Chira and admired his command of the English language. He admitted to postponing a trip to Mombasa in order to attend the burial, emphasizing how much he valued Chira’s ability to express himself eloquently.

“I postponed my trip to Mombasa because I wanted to be here. Brian was truly inspirational. His proficiency in English and his expressive mannerisms were remarkable. I’ve learned a lot from him, and that’s why I felt compelled to attend today,” Salasya stated.

Additionally, Salasya contributed Ksh40,000 towards financial assistance for Chira’s grandmother and pledged to collaborate with the area MP, Gathoni Wamuchomba, to provide further support.

“I pray for his soul to rest in peace, and I want to assure his grandmother that as an MP, I will work together with Wamuchomba to see how we can offer more assistance. I’m leaving a contribution of forty thousand which I hope will be of help,” Salasya affirmed.

TikToker Brian Chira was laid to rest in Ingitei village, Githunguri, located in Kiambu County, with his body retrieved from Kenyatta University mortuary earlier that day.

Peter Salasya grilled by DCI for making death threats to Kakamega Magistrate Gladys Kiama

Peter Salasya, the Mumias East member of parliament, was questioned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday.
This came after he turned himself in to be questioned at the Kakamega police station.
On December 4, Salasya was released from custody after a two-hour interrogation and Ksh. 20,000 police bail.
DCI officers launched a manhunt in response to the legislator’s alleged threats to assassinate Kakamega Magistrate Gladys Kiama, for which he was sought.
The member of Parliament allegedly endangered the magistrate’s life, according to a report she submitted at the station. The magistrate oversees the Small Claims Court.

This was the outcome of her choice to have Salasya pay back a loan owed to businessman Robert Lutta in the amount of 50,000 Kenyan Shillings.
The businessman claimed to have given the MP a loan on December 13 of the previous year, and he filed a case to get the money back through a KCB bank account.
The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA), among other institutions, have denounced Salasya and asked the DCI to look into the claims as soon as possible.

Police Investigate Alleged Death Threats By Mumias East MP Peter Salasya

Kakamega County police have launched an investigation into claims that Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya threatened to kill a magistrate after an unfavorable ruling in relation to a debt owed to a local businessman.

In a complaint filed at the Kakamega Police Station on Monday, November 27, Magistrate Gladys Kiama of the Kakamega Small Claims Court accused the MP of threatening to take her life following her order that he pay businessman Robert Lutta a debt of Ksh500,000 with accrued interest and court costs.

“At around 1230 hours while at Kakamega Law Courts, having delivered a judgment in a small claim matter vide case no. SSC E541/2023 against Hon. Peter Salasya, MP for Mumias East Constituency where he had been sued for failing to refund the money loaned to him by the claimant, he (Salasya) confronted her (Magistrate) outside the courtroom and threatened to kill her and then took off,” the police report reads in part.

The report further states that Salasya has since been making threatening calls and sending WhatsApp messages to the magistrate.

Police have confirmed that investigations have commenced and efforts are underway to arrest the legislator, who is still at large.

Background to the Case

In the case, Lutta, represented by lawyer Edwin Wafula, sued Salasya on October 23, alleging that he lent the MP the amount in December last year with the expectation of repayment within two months. However, Salasya reportedly became evasive and failed to honor the debt.

Police are urging Salasya to cooperate with the investigation and refrain from making any further threats or contact with the magistrate.

Salasya injects himself into Edday Nderitu and Samidoh’s marriage

Edday Nderitu, the wife of Mugithi singer Samidoh, has shared some wise words about marriage on her social media.

In a post on Facebook, Nderitu shared a scripture from Matthew 6:21, which reads: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” She accompanied the scripture with a photo of herself looking beautiful in a casual blue dress.

Nderitu’s post was met with a lot of praise from her followers, who urged her to continue enjoying her life in the US and to find a man who values her.

Mumia East MP Peter Salasya also commented on Nderitu’s post, praising her for her strength and for choosing silence instead of chaos and drama.

“You are such a strong woman,” Salasya wrote. “Despite the frustrations, you have chosen silence and not chaos and drama. That Omusikari shall realize he is losing gold while chasing stones.”

Nderitu’s post is a reminder that even in the midst of difficult circumstances, it is important to stay positive and to focus on the things that are truly important in life. Her words are a source of inspiration for women everywhere, and they offer a valuable lesson about the importance of self-respect and self-worth.
