An angered Churchill lectures comedians during Othuol Othuol’s burial (Video)

Churchill show founder, Daniel Ndambuki has clearly had enough of having to always carry the blame of comedians’ misconduct that either leads them to poverty or untimely death.

The godfather of comedy cleared the air once and for all, among young talents and established brands in the industry, in a long lecture during Othuol Othuol’s burial in Siaya over the weekend.

Churchill comes clean

In a video as seen by Ghafla, Churchill warns comedians to stop living lives to impress fans on social media. Who take off soon as you land into problems.

It pissed him off that comedians dared to consider their online fans as their family while in reality they’re not! Clarifying that family are only blood relatives.

“Stop calling you fans family. Stop parading your every move online. You have a life! Your family is your parents, children, wife/husband. Stop frustrating them!” a bitter Churchill lectured the comedians.

“Those are fans, the moment you stop being funny, they stop becoming your family,” he clarified.

But warned them that the minute they get to the top, then they better exercise strict discipline because he had had enough of burying comedian after another.

In yet another clip, Churchill clarified that he made a platform from scratch, tiring day and night to see it grow and host millions of talents to become bigger and better. But has instead been dragged into mud and all sorts of controversies.

Jalang’o who was on stand-by, acted as the interpreter as Churchill spoke, so that the message gets to everyone present.

Fans on the comment section could not agree more with the renowned comedian.

The late Othuol Othuol’s body was earlier today picked from the Chiromo mortuary and was moved to the National Theatre for a short requiem service. Being a popular comedian, the service was opened to all fans, friends and family to attend as they paid their last respects.

As seen on the photos circulating on social media; it appears that indeed he was loved and adored by fans who turned out in huge numbers as they bid him goodbye. Losing him at 31 years is a painful experience especially to those who knew him at a personal level.

So far we have seen the likes of Jalang’o, Otoyo, Churchill, Butita among others attend the night vigil dedicated to the late Othuol; and surprisingly all the comedians who worked with him turned out in huge numbers.

Othuol Othuol to finally arrive home

Although the comedian left his rural home in a bus as he headed to Nairobi looking for greener pastures; his body arrives today Friday, 23rd October in a casket as his family awaits to bury him on 24th.

Losing Othuol Othuol has not been easy but now that he is in a better place; all we can do as fans is pray for the young man to have eternal peace.

The late Othuol Othuol’s family has come out to share a few never seen before photos of their late son as seen on the eulogy book shared online.

According to his father Mr Omondi, Othuol did not grow up knowing the love of by his biological mother as she walked out on them many years ago. The late comedian was however raised by his step mum who saw him like her own.

Growing up, it was no secret that this young man was intelligent but at the same time a joker who kept entertaining his friends. Life however changed for him after moving to Nairobi where he perused his career in comedy.

Happy but short lived life

Although Othuol Othuol brought so much joy to fans and family through his jokes; it’s quite sad to see that he passed on at a young age of 31 years.

The sad part is that his death came just a day after celebrating yet another birthday. However due to the complications caused by the tumor in his brain; the young man took his last breathe of Sunday 12th October at the Kenyatta National hospital where he had been hospitalized.

Comedian Othuol Othuol’s body is currently on the way to his rural home Ndere Alego, Siaya county; where he will be laid to rest on Saturday, 24 October.

This is after comedian Ben Maurice Onyango popularly known as Othuol Othuol lost his battle to brain tumor a few days ago. His untimely death however came at a time when many remained hopeful that he would bounce back; since he already beat TB and had ready started showing progress.

The comedian however rested on 12th October about 5.30pm on Sunday after having to deal with unbearable pain and fatigue as his body was already shutting down. According to reports, Othuol died at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi; where he had been receiving treatment for the past two weeks.

At the time of his passing, the comedian had a few friends around him; but due to his struggling health – he did not get a chance to bid any goodbye.

Final resting place

After almost one year of walking in and out of hospital comedian Othuol Othuol is now in a better place at least according to the scriptures – a place with no pain.

Losing him a day after turning a year older is however a painful memory especially to those he loved and adored.

The comedy fraternity came together to mourn and celebrate the life of the late Othuol Othuol by holding an emotional night vigil.

With majority of talents in the comedy industry having been realized and molded at the Kenya National Theater, before spreading their wings to greener pastures, that became the preferred venue for the evening event.

A good number first congregated in the theater, for a fundraiser towards his burial expenses.

Thereafter lighting candles and matching to a common ground just outside the theater where they paid tribute to the deceased.

Jalang’o, Mwalimu Churchill, Nasra Yusuf among other comedians were in attendance.

Othuol’s last days

Othuol Othuol breathed his last in a tragic event just as he was about to go into surgery for his brain tumor at Kenyatta National Hospital.

There before, the Churchill show star battled TB that had a toll on his health which has since taken him through so much pain and numerous visits to the hospital.

Soon after his death announcement, fellow comedians, close family and friends and the nation at large mourned a rising star and a man who added years into the lives of many through his comical theatrics.

Even though, it is a loss for the comedy fraternity and Kenya at large, many believe it is his time to rest and wish him a safe journey through, until they meet again.

His body is set to be laid to rest on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at his ancestral home in Ndere, Alego, Siaya County.

As the comedy fraternity in Kenya continues to mourn the sad passing on of promising creative, Othuol Othuol, details of what is ailing the industry continue to emerge.

The most recent story, is one told by the platform founder himself, Mwalimu Churchill. Whose name has been dragged in mud time and again as young comedians continue to languish in poverty. A number loosing their lives in unclear circumstances.

Mwalimu Churchill spills the beans

The Godfather of comedy in Kenya believes that so many upcoming comedians lack the ability to efficiently manage their money while busy chasing ‘the social media lifestyle’.

The minute a comedian starts earning some good money, they attract a certain circle of friends. Some good, others not so good.

Remember, a stand-up comedian of this kind, is not guaranteed a monthly salary, so when you spend all you have today, tomorrow you might have to live without.

“One of the biggest challenge in the entertainment industry is the social media. So you have a big name, have a big following and you have to impress people every single day. In order to remain relevant. But sometimes, it gets out of hand,” Churchill admitted.

However, the Churchill Show founder, believes he gave the deceased a golden platform to grow his brand which he at times took with a lot of seriousness.

It is sad that majority of people who shared this journey of life with the late comedian, admitted he was very stubborn. One with bad drinking habits that might have cost him his life.

Captain Otoyo spills the beans on what killed Othuol Othuol (Video)

The truth behind Othuol Othuol’s sudden demise has come to light after fellow comedian Captain Otoyo walked fans through Othuol’s last days.

Speaking to Milele FM, Otoyo disclosed that Othuol’s long journey began roughly 2 years ago when he was diagnosed with TB and had to strictly take medication for a good 60 days.

However, being an alcohol addict, Othuol reached a point where he turned to alcoholism, ditching his medication.

The testament

This left Jalang’o, Sandra Dacha and Otoyo pissed off, warning Othuol that his life was at stake and only he could take care of it. So the three shopped for Othuol’s food and everything needed for his well-being and even raised funds for his medical expenses.

Unfortunately, as time went by, Othuol’s health greatly deteriorated with people having the assumption he had contracted HIV/AIDS.

What many did not know is, the deceased was not an employee at Churchill. Therefore did not earn a monthly salary, rather would only get paid for the shows he stages and that’s it.

However, that did not mean Othuol would die on a hospital bed. Comedians in Kenya were open to help in any way.

So whenever Othuol’s medical issues came up, they would all gladly raise funds to cater for his hospital bills. “We never neglected him,” affirmed Captain Otoyo.

Eventually, his health condition worsened, occasionally suffering serious migraines and was therefore rushed to KNH for an MRI and diagnosed with brain tumor. Othuol was attended to and once his condition had stabilized, allowed to return home.

He had been booked to return to hospital on a later date, as comedians continued to raise funds for his brain surgery.

Othuol’s last days

So on the due date, Othuol was rushed to KNH only to find doctors on strike. Forcing them to rush him to a local hospital at Athi River, next to his residence. But the medical staff did not have the resources.

Othuol had to wait for doctors at KNH to resume duty, where he was rushed to, but unfortunately, never even made it to surgery.

What pains Otoyo most, is how the public is quick to blame comedians and close friends for allegedly neglecting the ailing man when they were actually there for him.

Jalang’o responds to claims he denied Othuol Othuol KSh15k for treatment

Following stand-up comedian Othuol Othuol’s demise, his last messages with friends and family emerged, among them, a screenshot of his last plea to a friend who never answered his urgent call.

Something that pointed fingers at Jalang’o for allegedly neglecting a good friend and fellow comedian when he needed him most.

As seen in the screenshot, Othuol had indicated he was still unwell and would be going back to Kenyatta National hospital for a 2nd MRI and would need financial assistance of about KSh15k for the same.

“I will appreciate ile kidogo utaweza kunitumia,” concluded his message.

The person on the other end however only got to see the message after news of Othuol’s passing on, went viral. Something that has left a bitter taste among Kenyans.

Jalang’o responds

Word reached the media personality soon enough, bashing the minds behind the allegations, wondering what he ever did to the person who had decided he was the one who denied Othuol KSh15k.

“You see nowadays am so used to being associated with anything. I woke up and saw a blog’s headline that shocked me. Woow…do you know how you sit somewhere and wonder what you ever did to people?” Jalas posed.

“They always look for how to bring you down. But am used to it now and it doesn’t bother me anymore,” he continued.

Spilling details of several fund raisers they had as comedians, led by Sandra Dacha, even before Othuol’s passing on. So how someone had the audacity to allege that Jalas denied the ailing comedian 15k left him in shock.

“But if you decide to associate me with the screen shot who am I to change your thoughts?,” questioned Jalang’o.

Because for him, his life with Othuol will never change, having been the first person to build Othuol into the brand he became until his demise.

To the extent that Othuol Othuol decided to have a green suit like Jalango’s just to express his gratitude.

“Othuol’s death is soo sad. It hurts to the core. We did what we could. You might not understand for now!” he wrapped up his post.

Following the passing on of stand-up comedian Ben Maurice Onyango aka Othuol Othuol, fellow comedians, family and friends have gathered to plan for his eventual send-off.

He breathed his last while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital on Sunday, October 11 and his body now transferred to Chiromo mortuary.

His sudden death left outcry in the comedy fraternity, with everyone across the board talking of how good a gentleman the late Othuol Othuol was.

Later, reports indicating how he sought help from close friends to foot his bills and help him seek immediate medical attention, but proved futile.

Funeral arrangements

Meanwhile, family and friends are meeting at his Kitengela home as well as a hotel in Nairobi for funeral arrangements. As they share and hold each other during these difficult moments.

A fundraiser is set to be conducted to help offset burial expenses that have spiraled upwards of KSh 700,000 to 1M. This is according to a recent statement by the Chairman of Comedians in Kenya, Ken Waudo.

Plans are underway to lay the deceased to rest at his ancestral home in Ndere, Alego, Siaya County set for Saturday, October 24.

Before his passing on, Othuol was set to undergo a brain surgery to get rid of the abnormal brain infection that had cost him several trips to the hospital.

Even during his last months, Othuol Othuol would occasionally entertain kids around the estate. Something the young ones loved him for.

As the comedy fraternity in Kenya continues to mourn the tragic passing on of Othuol Othuol, throwback photos and videos of him continue to surface.

Othuol was known for his comical stints at Churchill show where he was a stand-up comedian and who thrilled fans the minute who walked on stage.

Sadly, only his theatrics on stage live to be remembered and forever leave a legacy of his life on earth.

Prophecy?

An interesting video of him during one of his many shows at Churchill, has surfaced, with the comedian making fun of his life in Heaven. Talking of how he lived the best of lives and how he was good buddies with Abraham who lived next door.

“In my dreams, I was brushing my teeth outside my house and because it is Heaven, we don’t brush teeth with water, we use milk,” he made fun of the situation.

According to Othuol, in Heaven, life is not a struggle like it is on Earth. People happily dine and wine, make merry, and lead exceptional lives.

“Then I saw Abraham and he said hi, asking me to go herd the sheep and cattle with him, before they are milked in the evening.”

But for Othuol, that is not the kind of life he expected to live while in Heaven so he declined the offer from Abraham.

Comedian Othuol Othuol took his last breathe on Sunday, 11 October as announced by his management. The funny man who had been battling a brain tumor unfortunately lost this fight just a few weeks to his brain surgery.

According to one Captain Otoyo, Othuol Othuol never gave up on himself and even after winning battle against tuberculosis; he remained hopeful that his surgery would help eradicate the brain tumor, but sadly he never got to see this day.

Away from that, there is a new post showing the message Othuol Othuol had been sending to his close friends; and relatives requesting for their assistance with his medical bill. As seen on the screenshot, the late Othuol Othuol is seen requesting friends to contribute as little as they have to help raise Ksh 15,000 for his MRI.

The late comedian went on to add that his health was getting worse especially with his swollen saying;

After spending countless days and nights beside Othuol Othuol’s hospital bed when he was still alive, former Auntie Boss actress Silprosa aka Sandra Dacha is struggling to come to terms with the comedian’s tragic death.

Sandra was one comedienne who time and again would update fans on the late comedian’s health status and would occasionally be spotted visiting him in hospital.

But the mere fact that he is no more, completely breaks her down.

Her tear-jerking posts

“Where do I start!!!” penned a devastated Sandra, who could hardly explain herself or even what just happened. Even forced to address the issue in her mother-tongue if it could help.

“Do I type REST IN PEACE???” she questioned. Sandra, who was pictured standing next to Othuol Othuol’s hospital bed yesterday, explained how she tried calling his name severally but with no response.

“Your hands were telling me to go away…you did all that ndio utuwache Othuol?????” she cried out.

It is a reality that Sandra is battling, having spent the last couple of hours, breaking down to tears, while still in denial that such a close friend was no more.

Following his unexpected death on Sunday, October 11 at 3pm in Kenyatta National Hospital, his body was then ferried to the morgue, a place Sandra visited, that left her totally crushed.

“My heart is heavy Osiepna,” she mourned.

Born Ben Maurice Onyango, the Churchill show star bid the world goodbye barely aged 31. This was his second time at the facility after suffering from brain tumor complications.

In a press statement from the Chairman of Comedians in Kenya society, Ken Waudo, arrangements are underway to inter Othuol’s body in his ancestral home at Alego, Siaya.

Sad! Comedian Othuol Othuol rushed to hospital after his health condition worsens

Reports reaching us are that long-ailing Churchill comedian Othuol Othuol is back in hospital, this time in critical condition.

According to a local publication, on Monday, September 28, Othuol was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital only to find doctors on strike.

Before being taken into Shalom hospital, Machakos, where he has been admitted and currently receiving care.

Intimate details

This is according to information divulged by popular film star, Sandra Dacha aka Silprosa stating;

Othoul is in a critical condition. He is admitted.

According to another message sent by the ailing comedian to Ken Waudo, the chairman of Comedian Society of Kenya, Othoul made a distress call about his deteriorating health status.

“Hi, hope this finds you well. I want to thank you for the support you have offered me. Meanwhile, sijapona and I will be going back to Kenyatta hospital for a 2nd MRI,” Othuol’s message read in part.

Unfortunately, previous reports made in July 2020, indicated that the comedian was scheduled for a brain surgery-whose details were yet to be shared. Only for his condition to now worsen within the last few months.

“As of the growth, imenishika ulimi imefura, such that I am not able to either eat or talk. I am pleading with you for any assistance to enable me get treatment. Thanks and God bless,” Othuol’s message finished off.

The saddening reports come just months after the comedian collapsed in his house in Kitengela, in June 2020, before being rushed to hospital, something that sounded an alarm of his poor health status.

Previously, Othuol had been diagnosed with TB and Vitamin D deficiency around November 2019. We wish him well.

Othuol Othuol was discharged from hospital on Monday, 6 July as directed by doctors. This was announced by Ken Waudo; who is the chairman of the comedian Society of Kenya.

According to Ken Waudo Othuol will have to receive his treatment from home to avoid exposing him to more danger; especially with the on going COVID 19 pandemic.

Speaking to popular news outlet, Waudo went on to add that Othuol is more safe at home than having him at a crowded ward at the hospital. He opened up saying;

Othuol Othuol is not out of danger, actually the precaution is that the nursing can be taken care from home given hospitals are on high risk level for other infections at this time of the pandemic.

In need of prayers!

Waudo went on to add that Othuol will be undergoing physical therapy for 3 days in the next 6 months; hoping that his health improves in due time.

Ken Waudo who is the chairman of Comedian Society of Kenya has come out to reveal – the medical condition that has left Othuol’s health deteriorating.

In a press release issued by the chairman, we understand that Othuol remains under the care of his doctors as he awaits for his brain surgery.

This is after doctors discovered an abnormal brain infection that is yet to be discovered whether it could be cancerous or not. However as for how Othuol remains under the strict care of his doctors.

The first MRI scan for the hospitalised Comedian Ben Maurice Onyango popularly known as Othuol Othuol results were released and indicate he has an abnormal infection in the brain. The medics told us they could not confirm if it’s a tumor or not.

However before the surgery Othuol Othuol will have to undergo another MRI scan to determine whether he needs the operation or not.

Ken also promised that the Churchill management was fully invested in seeing the guy get back on his feet; especially now that the media is all over the Churchill shows member.

Consequently this means he will remain under hospital scrutiny for the next 6 WEEKS as well as under medication as subscribed. Within a period of two weeks from now, he’ll have to undergo another MRI scan if there’s no change

This comes shortly after Ken also shared new details concerning the burial of Kasee; who will be laid to rest on Saturday, 4 July.

MEANWHILE, postmortem was conducted on the late comedian Joseph Musyoka Kivindu; AKA *Kasee* as faciltated by one of our senior member Mc Jessy. The revelations from the exercise were not conclusive hence samples were taken to Government chemist for further analysis; before final report is handed to authorities and family. We also encourage fellow comedians and public to desist from speculations as we await the results. We are also encouraging messages of condolences, which we will deliver them to the family. Tomorrow,3rd July 2020 we will have an informal session with family at their Kawangware home.

He concluded his press release saying;

The late comedian is scheduled for final rites at his fathers home in Itumunduni; Matuu Machakos on Saturday 4th of July. There will be a short prayer session at Chiromo Mortuary that morning at 8 am; before travelling to Machakos for interment later on in the day.

Wednesday, June 24, popular comedian Othuol Othuol was reportedly rushed to Kenyatta National hospital after he allegedly collapsed in the bathroom at his home in Kitengela.

Hours later, word had it that despite his poor state of health, he had to queue before getting attended to – something that ignited online uproar among Kenyans and fellow comedians.

Brain surgery

However, after receiving medical attention, it has emerged that the comedian has growth in his head, thus calling for brain surgery to save his worrying situation.

Creative director, Victor Ber divulged to TUKO on phone, that Othuol had yesterday informed him about the unfortunate diagnosis that has prompted his brain surgery.

A few weeks ago, he collapsed in the bathroom. He was rushed to hospital where he has been up to now. Othuol was diagnosed with a growth in his brain and he called me on Wednesday, July 1 to let me know.

Unfortunately though, Othuol will have to spend at least 6 months admitted until he is fully recovered from the sensitive surgery.

Details regards the needed financial capacity for the surgery and the date it is set to be performed, however remain unknown.

He is gonna be in the hospital for 6 months. Churchill is on it. Othuol called me yesterday to convey the message. He needs brain surgery. As per now, we do not know how much it will cost and when the surgery is scheduled.
