Uhuru Kenyatta throws his weight behind Nyashinski

Nyashinski needs millions of votes to win the coveted MTV EMA awards. The rapper has however received a big boost from president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Nyashinski is the second Kenyan artist after Sauti Sol to be nominated for MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA). The flourishing rapper has been nominated in the same category – Best African Act which Sauti Sol won in 2014.

The ‘Mungu Pekee’ hit maker is facing stiff competition from Nigeria’s Wizkid and Davido, South Africa’s Babes Wodumo and Nasty C and Angola’s C4 Pedro, who have all been nominated for the same prize.

Several Kenyan celebs have been marshalling their fans to vote for Nyashinski. He needs millions of vote to win the award considering Nigeria’s populations is four times bigger than that of Kenya.

A while back Nyashinki teamed up with Yemi Alade during the coke studio and judging from how they performed, many fans wanted the two to get married since their chemistry seemed a bit too real when on stage.

Their lyrics speak massively to their fans and having Yemi Alade sing in Swahili shows how much effort they put in the song which is currently taking over the airwaves in most Kenyan radio stations.

If you haven’t watched the video then you can catch it below:

Could ‘ego’ be the reason Kenyan artists including Nyashinski are not winning any continental awards?

It takes a lot of effort to be a successful artist. It requires interest, creativity and humility to become famous but this is something most Kenyan artists fail to understand.

Just a few days ago we saw many come out to show Nyashinski support as he is competing against big names likes of Wizkid, Davido, Babes Woduma (South Africa), C4 Pedro (Angola) and Nasty C (South Africa) for the Best African act – but looks like some Kenyan fans are thinking and voting otherwise.

We celebrate Nyahinski as our own and are proud he is representing Kenya. However many seem to be complaining that the fella has too much ego – in that he does not follow anyone on his Instagram since he is a star.

Such moves are the reasons why you will find Kenyans at times opting to support music from other countries and not their own. And though this is not a good reason not to vote, it however wouldn’t hurt for artists like Nyashinski to at least follow the likes of Nameless, Sauti Sol and many others who have been in the game with him since he began his music career.

One hype master by the name of MC Jose sparked this debate on his Instagram page attracting comments from fans who think that Kenyan artists need to humble themselves in order for them to be lifted.

If the likes of Diamond Platnumz who are now collaborating with international artists also follow back and interact with fans….who are we not to do the same?

Sauti Sol throw their weight behind Nyashinski as he faces off with Wizkid and Davido for MTV EMA award

Nyashinski is the second Kenyan artist after Sauti Sol to be nominated for MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA). The flourishing singer has been nominated in the same category – Best African Act which Sauti Sol won in 2014.

For starters, the 2017 MTV EMAs will be held at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, UK, on 12th November 2017. The host of this ceremony will be British superstar Rita Ora.

Nyashinski is facing stiff competition from Nigeria’s Wizkid and Davido, South Africa’s Babes Wodumo and Nasty C and Angola’s C4 Pedro, who have all been nominated for the same prize.

Sauti Sol has since started ‘campaigning’ for Nyashinski. The quartet  marshalled their fans on social media to vote for the ‘Malaika’ hit maker in a bid to make him became to second Kenyan artiste to win the coveted award.

“Massive S/O to the real King ?. You are one of the most naturally gifted and hardworking artists from the continent. Your humility and work ethic is something that we can all emulate. Congratulations on your MTV EMA #BestAfricanAct. When we were nominated, you guys helped us win it. It’s Nyashinski’s turn now. Let’s bring it home. He is the only East African representative this year. Voting is now open, log on to http://www.mtvema.com/en-africa/vote#best-african-act and VOTE as many times as you can. ???” Wrote Sauti Sol.

Nyashinski reveals why he is never bothered by what people say about him

Former Kleptomiax member Nyashinski has been flying high in the entertainment industry thanks to the inspiring music he has been releasing since making a comeback in the Kenyan music industry.

He has however been distant in terms of letting his fans know what he is up to but it’s understandable as this makes it interesting for his fans who often keep up with his social media pages.

In a recent post shared on his Instagram page the singer opened up about a few things that help him stay focused instead of paying attention to what people say about him. He wrote saying

You will be successful and they will talk about you even more. Why are you so worried about what they are saying right now? You’re just getting started. In the end they will say you took chances and it worked. Some things can only be solved with time. You’ll look back and say you were patient. You took your time. You took deep breaths. You took yourself to a new level. Believe you’re already the person that people will eventually see. I took my time, I took my chances, you took your time to read this and @tintseh took this picture.

With such attitude we can now understand why he has been winning since his major comeback.

There is no doubt that Nyashinski came back with a bang after returning back to his mother land. He released a couple of songs that have literally become anthems to both the old and young.

However, as much as he is a celebrity…the fella prefers to keep his private life off social media – something that has made it hard for us to know who he is dating or what he does when free.

Anyway, there are now photos of the lady he is believed to be dating making rounds on social media. The lovely lady goes by the name of Zia Bett and apparently owns Zia Collection Clothing (meaning she is as hardworking as her man)

This was revealed by a close friend of the couple who spoke to Mpasho saying;

“They are in love. Nandi always talks about how Nyashinski treats her. Many including our former schoolmates are envious of her. Rumor has it that they will formalize their relationship very soon.”

Well, we cannot confirm whether the two are romantically involved but judging from some of the photos Zia has been sharing…there might be something special going on.

Meet the lovely lady;
