Kalonzo’s daughter, Damarie Saada, was marrying her fiancé Martin Nyaga in a ceremony attended by both Kalonzo and President Uhuru Kenyatta. The two leaders were seated nearby, sharing smiles as the couple exchanged vows.
In his remarks, President Kenyatta expressed his gratitude for the friendship and solidarity from Kalonzo’s family, particularly noting his attendance at the wedding of Damarie and Martin in Naivasha, a popular wedding destination in Kenya.
Uhuru, while addressing the guests, reflected on his own daughter Ngina’s wedding, advising the newlyweds. In a TikTok video posted by MC Wakili, the President shared how emotionally challenging it was to let go of his daughter.
He humorously recalled trying to delay Ngina’s wedding, mentioning how he used excuses such as waiting for the COVID situation to ease, and how eventually, he ran out of reasons to postpone it, prompting laughter from the guests.
Uhuru also complimented the groom, Martin, for his good behavior, joking about how some men think they can take what they want without considering the family. He reassured Kalonzo, acknowledging the difficulty of letting go of a daughter, but offering support, saying, “We all go through that. I went through the same thing.”
Ngina Kenyatta, who had a traditional wedding in 2022, had her details leaked by Dennis Itumbi, who shared news of her Gurario ceremony. It was rumored that Ngina was engaged to Alex Mwai, son of the Karen Club’s General Manager. The event was highly private, with guests reportedly prohibited from using phones to capture moments.
