Nazizi reflects deeply on 2am visitations following her son’s death & four significant coincidences.

Legendary Kenyan musician Nazizi Hirji has shared a poignant experience that has recurred since the passing of her son, Jazeel Adam, last year.

Expressing her deep grief, Nazizi revealed that a specific butterfly has been visiting her whenever she feels overwhelmed by sorrow. She perceives this as more than just a coincidence, believing it reflects a supernatural connection.

Nazizi reflected on the timing of these visitations, noting that the butterfly appears around 2 a.m., the hour when her son would usually wake up. She observed that the butterfly is always the same color and size.

“Guess who came last night… it’s always this particular butterfly. Every time the pain is unbearable, I’m visited by this exact color and size of butterfly, always around 2 a.m. when my baby would wake up,” Nazizi shared in an Instagram post on September 27, 2024.

Jazeel passed away at a hotel in Tanzania where the family was staying, and he was laid to rest in Nairobi on December 27, in accordance with Muslim traditions.

“The loss of Jazeel is a heart-wrenching tragedy for our family. He was a bright light extinguished too soon,” the family stated in an announcement following his death.

“In these difficult times, we ask for understanding and compassion as we navigate through the pain of losing our beloved Jazeel. The support and empathy from our friends, fans, and the public mean the world to us during this challenging period,” they added.

To honor her son’s memory, Nazizi held a memorial service on February 4, 2024, marking 40 days since his untimely passing. This solemn event allowed her and her loved ones to reflect on the cherished moments they shared with Jazeel.

The rapper shared a video clip featuring Jazeel’s modeling work for a local clothing brand, celebrating his vibrant spirit and the love they had for each other. “40 days since you left Mama @jazeeladam,” Nazizi wrote.

If you had written off one of Kenyan pioneer artists, Nazizi as ‘retired’, you need another think coming. It’s been a while since the self-proclaimed Kenyan First lady of Hip Hop graced the airwaves with a new release, hence the perception that she’d hung her mic. Nazizi is back, in a huge way, alongside one of Nairobi’s most prolific Ragga artists, Levysill.

Levysill’s most acclaimed release was Full Attention, featuring Ugandan Ragga sensation, Peter Miles.

On the other hand, Nazizi is a household name with an enviable cabinet of music awards. The first lady also boasts of a string of popular albums under her belt. She has been tagged as one on the most revolutionary Kenyan artist who’ve positively shaped the local music industry. Some of her most notable hits include: Let’s Get Down, Kenyan Boy Kenyan Girl, Bless Ma Room and Naleta Action.

Nazizi’s first release of 2020 – Harder Than Before – also doesn’t disappoint, and it’s bound to ride high on the charts and is already commanding a sizeable chunk of airplay on mainstream media. Her characteristic style is evident from the start – she’s created a reputation as a social activist out to empower and inspire ghetto youth with positive messages in her lyrics.

Reggae artist Nazizi Hirji must be one happy parent to have such a handsome and bright boy like her young man who has always left her fans amazed with the type of relationship the two have.

Nazizi Hirji who seems to have relocated to coast with her 7 year old son has also been updating her followers with her weight loss journey that has transformed her into a different woman over the years.

With that, seems that she has been hitting the gym with her son who recently shocked many after he was photographed showing off what looks like abs on his mum’s Instagram page.

Dance hall queen Nazizi Harji might have gone missing since she was attacked by a fan on stage a while back. Since then, the singer has been laying until just recently when she shared a few photos from her son’s 7th birthday.

As usual Nazizi made sure to give her son the best she can offer since she is her only baby. The party was however held at Nazizi’s house allowing her family and sons friend to attend. The boy’s father was however not present since Nazizi walked out of her marriage a while back following personal issues.

However, the boy gets to travel to Tanzania once in a while to spend time with his dad and it’s pretty clear that coparenting is working out just fine for the two parents. Below are a few photos from the birthday party.
